It's a risk. If he keeps getting hurt then it'd be a disaster. If he stays healthy he'll still be overpaid.

Counter: he's a much better player than he's showed last couple years and it's really hard to obtain rights to good players. Also, we need a big man and there aren't many (any?) good options out there besides the draft, and those guys will take 2-3 years to develop anyways.

He’s hardly a big man if all he does is take 3s and stay away from physical play and can’t rebound

He’s Bargs 2.0

A year ago, I was all for a KP trade. But watching him the playoffs, he legit looked like Bargs 2.0. No heart, defence, or grit. I think it's a combo of the injuries and not being a featured player, but he was probably my least favourite player to watch this postseason, on a really entertaining team.

If we genuinely believe he could return to form, he'd be a fantastic fit here. But I skeptical that he every gets back to that.

it all comes down to hard work.

dude's core is made of jelly because he doesnt workout hard enough. So hes physically too weak to rebound or play down low. The result is he's injury prone, relegated to chucking 3's and hiding on the outside.

sound like bargnani to me :noway:

Looking at the post before by douggood's. Raps would have to basically move one of Siakam, OG, or Fred. Unless KP comes with pikcs, no way.

Why for the Raps?
Raps look towards the future to bring in a young prospective center in Wiseman to add to their younger core but have to endure Wiggin's contract in the process.

Why for GSW?
GSW maximizes Curry's championship window and picks up a title winner in Lowry, who can play off ball and also is a capable playmaker for the offence, as well as a super efficient Boucher who can stretch the floor and provide some rim protection on the defensive side for their front court.

Why for Lowry?
Lowry gets a real shot at winning another title by going to a contender in the west and also, gets paid of course.

Wiseman, Wiggins and pics is the trade package warriors fans want to send for Zion so I think that tells you what they would think of this deal. Lol

I am not sure if the Warriors can do a S&T with their cap situation?
Someone who is more of a capologist may be able to confirm.

Generally, I think Boucher to the Warriors makes a lot of sense.
The Lowry part is complicated because I am not sure he is going to be cool coming off the bench for a team that isn't exactly a lock to be even a home seed in the west next season.

I agree that KP didn't quite look right in the playoffs;
But I am not sure about the Bargs no heart aspect.

To me he just looked like a guy who was 10 years older with bad legs.
It was like watching Greg Oden come back at 26 with the Heat after three years away from the NBA with knee issues, obviously not as bad as Oden but generally every time I have seen him suit up he rarely reminds me of the guy who played for the Knicks.

I hope this isnt the case but he looks like his lower body is cooked.

its going to be really hard to field a team if they do a S&T; will have to tear everything else down around 4 players. almost damn near impossible.

after a s&t team is hard capped, cannot be over apx 138 mil hard cap.

the big 3 (curry/klay/draymond) alone make $110
so lets say kyle around 18 + 2 first round pick takes them past the hard cap just 6 players. its fiscally impossible for them to field a team.

Yea, I'm not a 100% about the cap thing either, I just plugged it into the ESPN trade machine and it worked. Ultimately, I feel we're giving up more value in the trade but it makes sense to me direction wise for each team.

As for the fit, I was thinking that Lowry can play the off guard spot beside Curry, since the Warriors are known for playing small ball but Lowry is a consummate professional and I don't see any issue with him coming off the bench, if it means winning.

I think Boucher pretty much gives them what Wiseman would in 4-5 years so they save on that. Boucher can play the 4 and they could slide Draymond over to the 5, which is what I believe is his natural position despite being undersized.

A couple Warriors fans/posters didn't mind the trade in the trade section so I think its a fair trade for both sides.

It's not that the Raptors wouldn't necessarily not trade for Kemba, it's that the demands would be around how many assets do we get back for taking on their bad contract (that took the place of their old, injury prone bad contract: Hayward).

We could take Kemba on for free in cap space this summer, but we'd have to get Boston's first rounder to do it, at minimum.

If they want a replacement guard with value like Fred or a Lowry S&T; then we're going to need 2 or 3 first rounders and/or prospects. You don't get to dump your injury riddled over 30 year old max contracts for free. And you certainly don't get younger, better players for them like Siakam. Laughably absurd.

Ya, Horford is still good and needed a 1st pick and Maledon's rights (early 2nd rounder) attached.

Raptors also have too many guards. Maybe Boston should trade Kemba and 1st pick to OKC for Horford. :D

Considering Kemba was better than Horford this year, I severely doubt that.

I more presented this trade because Siakam's contract, while far from the worst, doesn't look great right now...plus he's got 3 more years left on it. If the Raps decide to go full tank, they should consider unloading Siakam now IMO

Congrats to Psubs for hitting bullseye.

My theory was around giving up assets for a questionable younger bad contract or gaining a pick for a questionable older bad contract.

Ended up giving up a pick for a lateral older bad contract anyway.

Not a draft topic, but we don't really have a prospects thread so I'm putting it here. New Freddie is going to be an excellent backup big imo. Wide body with elite wingspan, quick feet, and smart reads. Just needs to improve his free throws and maybe add a respectable 15 footer for emergency bailouts.

https://www.actionnetwork.com/ncaab/ncaa-tournament-betting-film-room-how-to-upset-baylor-bears-no-middle-defense

My hypothesis is that, despite retaining Davion Mitchell and Mark Vital, the Bears are really missing Freddie Gillespie.

At 6-foot-9 and 245 pounds, Gillespie was one of the most versatile defenders in the country. Baylor played him as a small-ball center in its six most-used lineup combinations last season. Gillespie blocked 2.2 shots in 28.4 minutes per game and was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive team last season.

It’s important to reiterate just how versatile and athletic Gillespie was defensively.

He brought a great inside presence, could switch onto and defend every position with length and was excellent at closeouts on the perimeter. Essentially, Gillespie was a fever dream for Scott Drew.

With Gillespie gone, his minutes at the center position have been replaced through a combination of Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua, Flo Thamba and Matthew Mayer. All three are serviceable, but none of them can switch as aggressively or close out as effectively as Gillespie could.

Plus, Baylor’s inside presence is worse as well. Baylor’s block percentage dropped to 10.3% after being at 12.7% last season, as the three centers combine for just 1.8 blocks per game.

Baylor just doesn’t have another big man like Gillespie who can switch on to and keep elusive guards and ball handlers in front of him while also contesting those shots with size and length.

That leaves Baylor vulnerable to, as Jordan Majewski writes on his website Staring at the Floorboards, “straight line drives from bigger, athletic ball handlers.” That’s particularly true for the Bears’ top three guards, who are all great defenders but all shorter than 6-foot-4.

I'd imagine the Kings say no. They really punting on a #2 pick, only three yrs later, to move up a couple spots in the draft?

Bagley might figure it out. He's talented.

That second is sexy too.

Obviously, as a Raptor fan I like this.

Pascal for Wiggins and pics is a rumoured trade the warriors want to make. If it’s a 2021 first then maybe I would consider it depending on who Masai likes in the draft

Pascal is really good and slightly overpaid. Wiggins is really bad and vastly overpaid. This trade is only a consideration in the unlikely event that Minny's pick conveys and is #4, plus we get GSWs own pick, plus Wiseman. We're not trading Pascal for a #6 pick in this draft, or any draft. He's too good for that.

Anyway, Pascal is damaged goods right now.

Most Likely isn't available but Christian Wood would have been the ideal Center for this team and is the perfect fit beside Siakam in the lineup. Wish he was a FA this off-season instead of the last.

If we grabbed a Guard/Wing in this years draft....Like a Jalen Green in the top 4 perhaps

Fred VanVleet
Jalen Green
OG Anunoby
Pascal Siakam
Chistian Wood

Thats drool worthy

I may be the only person who doesn't see "it" in Bagley.
His numbers aren't bad and he has had some shining moments on a team that is generally a dumpster fire most of the time.

The problem is I hate bigs who are already that injury prone at 21;
I also hate the fact that he would have to pay him next summer.

The value of the deal itself seems largely in line;
The bigger challenge is you need to make this deal before you know if you have cap space or not. If Lowry bolts we are essentially eating most of our space to add Bagley doesn't quite appeal to me :lol:

The Wiggins + Stuff for Siakam framework has been bouncing around for a while;
I am sure from Golden State's perspective its logical.

One of the biggest misnomers that many in the US media make is that Wiggins being Canadian somehow makes him more valuable to us.

It doesn't.

Nah it doesnt- you're right. But if a rebuild is what we're trying to do, we could do a lot worse than Wiggins, Wiseman and 2 high value firsts for Siakam and fillers, which is exactly what I would be looking for.
