I would be perfectly fine with drafting Cade or Suggs and keeping Sato. If they are not ready to start then start Sato and bring them off the bench. Use FA to sign the best player they can get.

If Sato is on this team next year, the offseason was a failure.

Sato was solid this season for the Bulls. He was efficient with a .610 TS%, shot .514 from the field, .356 from 3 pt and .858 from the FT line, averaged 12.3 pts, 4 rebounds and nearly 8 assists per 36 minutes with only 2.6 TO's. He was a plus positive impact player with solid on/off numbers. That is a quality bench piece on any team. I think the Bulls should keep him around especially at the value contract he is on.

Sato is such a disappointment because you can tell he has the skills to be a good starter, but for whatever reason is allergic to being more than a 4th option scorer. That said, he's paid to be a 7th man, and when paired with Thad (which was the key), he was very good. That pairing lost their effectiveness when Zach and Vuc are on the floor because they both go back to being distributor-only guys.

I think Livers can be solid, but would prefer the rival Aaron Henry over Livers and I'm not a Michigan/Michigan State guy. Henry has been inconsistent with his 3 point shot, but does everything else really well. Elite defender, can create, pass, smart player, etc...

Pretty sure we put the nail in our own coffin when we stupididly won that last game in a must lose situation. I can guarantee that either N.O. or the Kings is moving up at our expense.

Very Bulls of us, wouldn't you say? Still, there is a chance. Getting a top 4 pick would be huge for the team's future. Maybe AK struck a deal with Silver to rig the lotto for us when he made the Vuc deal haha.

I'm almost sad that AK didn't just make the pick unconditional - this is all a little silly.

Who do you guys like for our 2nd rounder? I trust in AK to find at least a good rotational player with the pick

Trading unprotected picks is the worst thing any GM can do. Just ask Billy King.

yeah especially in this draft, top 4 makes sense. The only way it would make sense is if it was unprotected and they only get 1 FRP not the 2023

Let's say the ping pong balls are red inside and we end up at #4.

Is it irresponsible to start asking around what we can get for it? Is everybody so dead bang certain as they were last year that #4 is going to come in and be a difference maker, if it's a PG maybe he starts, if he's a PF or a SF does that mean Markkanen and Young are packing their bags for sure and who can they get for them? Is it possible some other team in the top 10 with their new GM or coach wants to tank one more year and make a move UP to #4 in exchange for their pick and some veterans?

For example ORL is in rebuild mode could they really have somebody at #5-6 that they were looking at, would they give the Bulls back their 2022 and 2024 picks along with Bamba to get that guy?

Down to #9 SAC to get Bagley and maybe a pick swap down the road

Down to #7 TOR with Boucher

#11 CHA for PJ Washington and Miles Bridges

Yeah everybody falls in love with the shiny new draftee and he's going to be a star and other teams have the same feelings, but the Bulls have several holes to fill and maybe trading down is how they take step 2 after the deadline to revamp

Return to Chicago Bulls
