I always doubted Cassell because of his 2008 Celtics ties. Not what I imagine Brad wants.

Yeah definitely hate having people in an organization that's won before.

I don't recall any overtures from Brad to bring in the leaders of those teams to talk with his players or mentor them in any way. Have you seen any signs of him forging relationships with that generation of C's winners? Did he ever take the opportunity to try to bring Cassell in to his coaching staff?

Nope. Just a bunch of jobbers from D3 Colleges. The end result was always expected.

With how stupid some of his takes were when he was an analyst, I'm pretty sure he'll make a terrible coach as well. Love him to death, but please no.

Was already leaning towards him thanks to his experience with numerous different successful franchises, seems to come well regarded, got the support of players from int'l hoops. And then I found out he bagged Nia Long as his partner? SIGN THIS MAN UP NOW.

Imo we need to hire him right now if we want him. Saves us from someone else nabbing him and turns the coverage of the team in the media. They are hammering us right now for that athletic article

Isn’t/wasn’t part of the issue some of their candidates (like Billups) were still in the playoffs?

Obviously Udoka is free to interview now. Curious to see if we just rush to seal the deal and not let him get snatched vs. bringing in Billups again after the Clippers end their run.

Definitely would appear to be one of those two; though

I think that the Coach has already been chosen.
They just haven't announced it, because that Coach's current team is still in the Playoffs.

My bet is it's Sam Cassell.

Yea I'm getting strong Udoka vibes, too. Seems like Chauncey is on his way to Portland, and there's not at all much smoke regarding Sam Cassell.

Udoka looks a bit like Horford minus the eyelashes.

I like him. I just don't view him as a winner like Billups or Cassell. Strikes me as too much like Brad.

What gives you that vibe? Because like the entire nba world thinks high as hell of him, and he’s been in the playoffs every year he’s been a coach.

Who cares if his demeanor is relatively similar to Brad, demeanor wasn’t the problem there, it was the inability to communicate.

I think the incident with Billups pretty much disqualifies him here in Boston. Too bad because I thought he would be perfect otherwise. I’m not saying he shouldn’t ever coach or work again if he was innocent or if he somehow atoned for any part he had in the affair. That said, I don’t want that distraction or cloud hanging over this team in any way. Whoever seems best out of Sam, Ham, Kara or Ime works for me.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Not sure I understand this. I'm sure everyone on the team knew what Brad wanted to try and get accomplished. Brad knew how to articulate and communicate himself. But what Brad FAILED is holding players ACCOUNTABLE. By far that was the number one issue in my opinion.
