Oh we're being that literal. My bad. I meant the 2019-20 season.
Thybulle didn't get many minutes in his rookie year. Ben Simmons was our wing defense and Josh Richardson. In fact Brown, used Simmons on defense of star players far more than Doc has this year. Additionally in the playoffs when the Sixers were swept they initially used that drop coverage and had to change it, when they saw that it was complete ass. This was the 2nd or 3rd game of the series. Now it may have been Brown who had final say, but Udoka was the one whose name was on the defense. Lloyd Pierce ran our defense prior to Udoka coming, and the Sixers had a top 5 defense. As I said, the book is still out, but I wouldn't be surprised if the defense is still bad. A lot of that could be on personnel though too for the Celtics so let's see.
But Simmons was out during the playoffs, and you guys had a top 6 defense during the regular season if we're going by points per game, top 7 if points per possession, top 8 by DRTG.
Prior to Udoka coming, you guys had Jimmy Butler playing 55 games (Covington beforehand). You also had Harris being used primarily as a PF, where he fits properly on defense. Simmons played 79 games and Embiid 64.
I'm sure Udoka's defensive schemes may have had some weaknesses that you picked up on, but you're not being fair here.
