All inObi + IQ (or RJ) + Draft picks/swaps
Isn't that was it's going to take?
I hope we can keep Mitch.

The Cavs are not doing that deal and for good reason. For us, it would be a great idea because then once Love expires, we would have nearly 2 max slots open with rookie scale Barrett and rookie scale Green and whatever we pay Mitch and IQ. So in 2023 who is available? who wants to pair up and lead a 5 year mini-dynasty?
So yes, of course we do that, but Cavs, Pistons, Rockets, Raps all should not move their top picks for Randle who is legitimately an all-star after last year.
Stars don't line up to come play with 20 year old kids. It doesn't happen. They want to play with guys around their own age that have already established themselves as all stars. What you are proposing is pure fantasy. Knicks already have 2 max slots available this offseason with multiple picks to play with and young guys who could have some value on the market. If there is anytime to strike and create a big 3 for ourselves with guys like Lillard, SGA, Kawai, Wall, KAT Kemba and that caliber being available this offseason now is it.
Players might be looking to team up with Luka and Trae if their teams had proper cap space. Luka's problem now is that KP looks busted. If Dame and some other star were FA right now, I could see them looking at Dallas with non-max Luka
How would that make sense salary wise? Also gs has green, i dont think they would want randle. Do you think they can play together? Also, if wiseman is coming they would want mitch... i dont mind sending mitch and randle and 3 of our picks for wiggens, wiseman &7.sol537 wrote:Wiseman + 7 + 14 for Randle + 32 is something you have to consider if GSW is interested. As mentioned before, the pressure is on GSW to go all in for the last few years of Curry's prime. Dray + Randle + Curry + Klay all healthy gets you a title.

Then you convince Kawhi to sign as a FA. Now you have a contender.

You just named 2 all stars proving my point. RJ is getting better but not an all star. Whoever they would draft in your scenario is not an all star. Knicks have one of those. His name is Julius Randle and he has respect among the players in the league. Use this time of instability in the league to capitalize while we have the cap space and abundance of assets.

when has KP really not been busted? He came to us with a unicorn ceiling, but turned out to be a diva in unicorn's clothing. Plus, he's been injured and his rehab was mismanaged.

He averaged 20-10-2 prior to an injury last post-season (Which was like 6 months ago). He is more reliable than Kawhi who most of us would give up a leg for. Let him get one full off-season where he can properly rehab and properly train up for the season. Doncic may be balling out q1-3, but his chubby self could hit the gym and maybe he'd be fresh in q4.

You're definitely right. But kawhi is at least a proven winner. KP is a proven little bitch.
Kawhi is about as reliable as KO, though. You're right about that

Why would Kawhi come here when his team - without him - in the WCF? We couldn't even get out of the first round. You think Kawhi would rather play here?

Don't want to deal with the Lakers. With LeBron, he makes guys usually look better. Take them away and make them fend for themselves on offense... it's going to be bad.

I thought I read he's FA and likely looking to get out. That's only reason I asked.
I don't know much about kuz. A bit of a stretch 4 I think is all I know

Went from better asset than Ingram to streaky wing scorer.
