You keep him until a star is available.
You'll never get Harden is McColumn is your trade chip (+ picks etc off course) so you keep him and wait until there's a new opportunity.

I'd do the McCollum deal.

It doesn't matter if Ben shines with Celtics, the only thing that matters is if it makes us better, you only ask this question.

We’re not looking for depth.

We’re looking for a top tier star for Ben. Someone like Dame. Or a package of young players like Sexton.

If we have to simply give up Ben and get more than an asset in return, it’s already a red flag.

The right structure of a Ben Simmons trade is we need to give up Ben and multiple assets and get a single asset in return.

In example:
Ben + picks + Thybulle for Harden
Ben + Thybulle for Dame

Fair enough. What if no such player becomes available though?

Would you rather have the above package from the C's or (for instance) McCollum + a couple of picks from the Blazers? Or would you rather keep Simmons and run it back?

Then we hold and run it back. Ben is only 24. We can find ways to pad his stats and make him look good out there

You'll see an emotionally flat team out there in that scenario, unless it's crystal clear to the team that Simmons has improved significantly.

They're not going to go out there believing they have a ball and chain on their championship capacity and aspirations and play with any fire or drive -- on team level that is. Individual guys will still play with passion and to the best of their ability, but the team energy and cohesion that results from a true belief in the team's ability to win a championship won't be there.

Think of this KAT pick and popping on Ben.
DLo setting invert screen on Ben.
DLo and Ben PnR while KAT spacing the floor.

These actions opens opportunities for Ben to drive to the rim.

Remember how Ben’s chemistry with JJ and Dario, he can have that with those 2.

Man.. if I’m rich paul, I’ll even demand Ben to be traded to the Wolves.

Ben is the perfect frontcourt player to play with KAT. And the perfect backcourt player for DLo. Even on defense.

Watch this clip and this is how Ben’s gonna play with the Wolves

We didnt have Jojo this game. We played with a smallball unit. And Gobert was defending Ben because he didnt want to be taken out of the paint.

If you have a frontcourt of Ben and KAT. Will you put your center on KAT and take him out from the paint? You will most likely put him on Ben.

Ben then can have an advantage because he’s quicker than any centers.

KAT has no trouble staying outside the 3pt line because he’s like the steph curry of centers with how he shoot 3s

Down the stretch Wolves can run DLo-Ben PnR or Dump the ball for a 1v1 for KAT.

P.S. this is also why AL made sense in terms for Ben and playing without Biid

Unless the mental/emotional part of his game improves significantly, that'll continue to be the exception to the rule for him regardless of where he is and the surrounding personnel involved. It's not like his game reached that level consistently when the surroundings with the Sixers were of that nature -- it's been the exception to the rule here as well.

My point is he fits very well with the Wolves.

Wolves maybe willing to overpay. I dont think they’d want another season in the lottery and specially after what they saw from the jump suns made.

I’d expect wolves FO to be willing to trade Antman for Ben. But I doubt Morey and Doc would go hard for Antman. I’d expect both of them to try to get Dame.

Personally, I’m OK with pick of pick swap, Rubio and Antman for Ben.

Who do we think are Realistic targets ?

LaVine
SGA
Sexton
Wiggins and picks ew
Beal
Westbrook :/
DLO + don't really love this either but better than a few of the possible offers
L.Ball + :/
Bs Warriors offer :/
Bs Lakers offer :/

Longshots
Lillard
D.Mitch

Maybe I'm missing a guy or two.

Anyone think if we cant get Dame then maybe we can really swing for the fences for DMitch?

I’d only consider those. Others will be just noise.
1.) Dame
2.) Antman
3.) Cade or Green in 2021 draft

Would be cool to get Cade or Green. Cleveland would be our only chance at that. Detroit and Houston probably won't trade with us.

KOC reported Sixers want a chance at Dame. Probably obvious, but at least it's some news.

I have no order with any of the players that I would be willing to trade Ben for, but here goes...And no...If I'm the GM, I'm not trading him for CJ McCollum. I love CJ! He's one of my favorite players in the game, it would be great to have him on this team, but for Tobias...Not Ben. Anyway...Here are who I personally would trade Simmons for.

CAVS
3rd pick
KLove

WOLVES
Anthony Edwards
Rubio
Culver

Blazers
Damian Lillard

OKC
Shai G

ROCKETS
John Wall
2nd Pick they get our 28th pick

KINGS
Fox or Tyrese Haliburton

BULLS
Lavine

Otherwise, we just need to keep him and look to moving Tobias Harris instead. Those are my thoughts on it at the moment. I love Ben, I want him here, but he's going to have to improve his offensive game for us to ever have a shot at winning a title.

I would love to get CJ for Tobias and I would love to get love/sexton for Tobias. Would be willing to add to him in either scenario probably a good bit too

In what world, are NBA teams going to trade us their best player for Ben Simmons.

I don’t get it.

A world where an NBA team's best player demands a trade out and puts us on their list, and the ownership of that teams demands that they get an established all-NBA type in return.

It's not that fantastic.

I'm trading Ben for the best scoring guard that we can get. If that's CJ, then that's CJ (whose combination of shooting/shot creation would be by far the best of anyone Embiid has ever played with).

And not a 20 year old. Embiid is probably at his peak right now. Edwards or a top 5 pick while good in value don't make sense for that reason.

Keeping Ben just isn't an option. He needs to go.

Reading pages and pages of this thread makes me realize I'm happy we have a competent front office structure. Fans are approaching this as if we have to trade Simmons. We don't unless it makes sense. There's hardly been any deals proposed in this thread that makes sense.

As Morey told us at the beginning of the season, the roster you start with doesn't necessarily have to be the roster you finish with. If he doesn't find maximum value for Simmons, he's not going to trade him.

CJ for Tobi ... Sexton and Love for Tobias and shake yup.
Simmons for CJ nope. Dame hell yes . Build on our strengths in which is elite defense. lines up Embiid, Ben and Thybulle at the 3. Add some elite offense to Maxey and Curry.

We need speed and scoring surrounding Ben to maximize he and Embiid.

Get it done.
