Not saying Obi is going to be a superstar.

But he put up 13 points per36 on 57% TS% and consistently got better on both ends of the floor throughout the season (having a little breakout in the playoffs)

Obi isn’t Frank or Knox. I’m not against trading him for Sexton, but we shouldn’t use him just as a throw in when he has definitely shown potential.

Obi would be the centerpiece of the trade going to the Cavs. That’s far from being considered a throw in. Most are fine with him going because:

1. He won’t get opportunity here with Randle being the clear #1 PF
2. We get a younger player with star potential that can take us to the next step

This.. you have to give up something to get something. We always pitch our garbage and think that's going to get us a good player but that's not how this works. I think Obi is going to be solid player and showed some serious flashes the last two months of the season but he's never going to have an opportunity here cuz of Randle's emergence. I'd rather cash him in for someone with more upside in a position of need.

We struggled to get buckets because we played 3 starters that couldn't shoot a spot up standstill 3. We started a PG who the opposing defense completely ignored when he both had and didn't have the ball.

Sexton is an on ball, pound it and chuck player. He's Monte Ellis, Dion Waiters etc.. We need a Cam Johnson, or a Bridges or a Duncan Robinson who can keep the floor spread.

... assuming we're keeping and starting RJ Barrett and Randle.

No, I'm just citing the archetype of a knock down shooter. $12-15 million sure. I think Miami might get backed into a corner and end up paying him $18-20.

But he essentially drags the whole defense with him off a pin down and can give guys like Jimmy Butler and Bam who aren't shooters room to operate. Players average NBA defense given how the league is officiated.

Duncan Robinson is one of the worst defenders in the league. He’s just Steve Novak who knows how to move off the ball. Giving him 15 mill a year is an isiah Thomas type move

But Sexton can shoot and create his own shot. We could use a Cam, Duncan or Bridges AFTER we get someone like Sexton who can penetrate, shoot and draw defenses.

What is RJ going to do? or Randle? Unless something changes having those 2 just stand around watching Sexton chuck isn't getting us anywhere. Sexton doesn't pass. We need a player who defenses respect enough to guard in a pick and roll. Players that you can just go under on every time and laugh if they shoot a 3 are kind of useless, like Payton. Sexton is just Austin Rivers with new paint. **** him.

You’re out your mind if you think Sexton is just gonna come in and keep playing like he did with the Cavs. Here there’s a structure and hierarchy that doesn’t exist in Cleveland

If you want to argue you don't think Sexton is worth 30 mil a year, or you think we'd need to take back Love and you don't want to pay him the next 2 years, that's understandable

But in terms of talent and fit, it's not even close.

You aren't that wrong. Sexton is a year older in his 3rd year than Kyrie but the efficiency, even adjusted for league average is better than Kyrie in his 3rd season. Both were playing on trash, tank fest Cavs teams.
