No he doesn't.

Are you talking about the Doug McDermott who we quit on after only 1 season because of only 53 made 3's throughout 55 games (less than one 3 made per game) ?

Or are you talking about the same Doug McDermott who could only 1 start game for us in 2017-2018 because he absolutely stinks?

The same "X-Factor" Doug McDermott who helped lead our 2017-2018 Knicks to a 29-53 tank season?

The same Doug McDermott who @ 29 years old is a bench warmer with only 43 career starts despite 7 years of NBA sucking? 43 starts bro?

You must be referring to the same Doug McDermott who ranked 296th in Defensive Win Share (last year) in comparison to Duncan Robinson's 98th?

Duncan Robinson previous 2 years = 520 made 3s @ .427%.

Doug McDermott previous 2 years = 239 made 3s @ .412%.

Last but not least are you talking about the same Doug McDermott who just got swept 4-0 by Duncan Robinson during 2019-2020's playoffs and the SAME Doug McDermott who only shot .200% from 3PT? 3PT% of only .200% while Duncan Robinson shot from 3PT .444%?

Duncan Robinson vs Indiana playoffs
50 points scored and .444% from 3. Swept 4-0.

Doug McDermott vs. Miami playoffs
10 points scored and .200% from 3. Got swept 0-4.

My face lit up like a CHRISTMAS TREE when I seen you used "Doug McDermott" as your excuse against Duncan Robinson.

and you know how I was smart enough to look up these 2019-2020 playoffs statistics of Doug McDermott? Because unlike you I watched every Playoff game (just like I'm watching Milwaukee/Suns right now 49 to 47 Suns)

and remember laughing to myself and laughing @ our former Knicks 2017-2018 bench warning scrub while he only scored 10 points off of 4/15 from the field (.266%) and only 2/10 from 3 (.200%)

THAT'S WHEN YOU KNOW THE DUNCAN ROBINSON CLUELESS HATE IS REAL WHEN YOU'VE GOT KNICKS FANS LIKE THIS GUY COMPARING DUNCAN ROBINSON TO "Doug McDermott" IN ORDER TO PROVE SOME FAKE POINT .

PS KIDS: Stay off of drugs and dope every day of the week including Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and not just on "Sundays".

You can't make this stuff up...

(I can't wait until I see how you try and "spin this one", NoDopeOnSundays)

(All I can do is, laugh)

Alright so Duncan Robinson is good. Does he ask for a 4 year 72 Bogy Bogdanovic/Joe Harris deal or 4 yr 80-90 Gary Harris/Buddy Hield deal. All who play with a solid primary handler and distributor. Except maybe Gary Harris but he's on the Magic.

The Knicks should spend their cap space on more versatile guards. Point guard or a dynamic SG (Sexton?). The stats for 1,200 3 PT shots in 2-seasons are incredible but it's only 2 seasons. Give me a break one of the best 3 pt shooters of all time. I'd rather sign Dragic for cheap.

And all of the Robinson defense highlights show the Heat playing a zone, and as NopeDopeOnSundays said the Knicks don't play zone. If there's no youtube highlight videos of Robinson playing man-to-man defense do the powers even exist?

You wanted Bertans, it's not really shocking that you want Robinson too, what's shocking is you learned nothing from Bertans and paying specialists.

I'd still take Bertans, he's not a bad player. You wanted Wiseman, who is a terrible bust, and wanted to give away Randle for a can of corn while I advocated keeping him

Of course you'd take Bertans, so we can have 45% of our cap tied up between two players that play the same position one of which is a specialist.

Wiseman is a bust after a year? You just saying anything at this point.

In all seriousness when I first started talking about him I thought the price tag would be comparable to what Bertans got 15-16M a year. I think he'd be a good pickup for that price but 20M+ is too steep. Then again we could poison pill a conference rival and make them either pay their guy or lose one of their premier offensive players

You write people's careers off on 4 and 5 game sample sizes and you ask me for a year+? No. He is exposed a bust.

I'm not asking you for anything, you sound like you're just arguing from a point of emotion more than anything else. Who have I written off on a 4-5 game sample, Robinson? Couldn't be him since I pointed out how much the Heat play zone throughout the course of 2 years, nah, can't be that. So, who?

Sexton - Rose - Vildoza
Duncan - IQ
RJ - TM3
Randle - Larry Nance
Mitch - Drummond

At least we’d have a lot of shooting I guess

Exactly.

This guy doesn't even know the Knicks ranked only 21st in 3s made and 26th in points scored.

Dāvis Bertāns Previous 2 years (2019-2020 and 2020-2021
1,489 points scored.
413 rebounds.
141 assists.
76 steals.
458/1088 = FG% of .421%.
369/900 = 3PT% of .410%.
Defensive Win Share = 219th

Duncan Robinson Previous 2 years (2019-2020 and 2020-2021
1,925 points.
482 rebounds.
229 assists.
78 steals.
638/1404 = FG% of .454%.
520/1219 = 3PT% of .427%.
Defensive Win Share = 89th.

Anyone who thinks Dāvis Bertāns is as impact as Duncan Robinson in regards to all 3 of 3PT shooting, playmaking and defense? Doesn't know basketball.

I guess we're all big dopes and you know more than the Knicks front office who's about to go find blazing after Duncan Robinson, Right?

PS: Our Knicks ranked 21st in 3s made and 26th in offensive points scored (while our Defense ranked #1 during year #1 under coach Thibs).

But you didn't know any of this, right?

Sextons defense is actually 10x worse than Duncan Robinson's who everyone's making a big deal about.

C: Mitchell Robinson.
PF: Julius Randle.
SF: Duncan Robinson.
SG: R.J Barrett.
PG: Lonzo Ball (great passer/great defense).

That's an awesome and a dynamic starting 5 (which still easily ranks top 5 in defense) and would rank top 5-10 in 3s made too.

He isn't good enough to tie up that much money to for 3-4 years for our situation. He is player you go after when you already have your stars and you're looking for that last piece or two. We're not there yet. Continue to take short contracts, build in the draft and young players until you finally get to the point in a year or two where you're ready for a Duncan Robinson-type player.

What do you think he will get? Probably more than mid-level, but if you look at similar guys Kennard and Bertrans you are looking at the 15M area no? Not exactly breaking the bank and if he doesn't crash, he is moveable

True but neither one of Dāvis Bertāns nor Luke Kennard can hold this kids jockstrap as 3PT shooters.

Duncan Robinson (previous 2 years of 2019-2020: 520 made 3's (.426%).

Vs.

Dāvis Bertāns (previous 2 years of 2019-2020) : 369 made 3's (.410%).

Luke Kennard (previous 2 years of 2019-2020) : 173 made 3's (.425%).

Duncan Robinson has (almost) made more 3's (520) than both Bertans and Kennard COMBINED (542) throughout the previous 2 years.

There's no comparison.

But you just compared them.

He will have a similar role, but you always have to factor how many points you let up vs how many points you generate. Is Thibs going to be running him off picks like JJ or Ray Allen/Reggie Miller? If he starts doing some leg kicks to get FT's he could be dangerous. It's a lot of money for a guy who does not playmake, below average rebounder/defender, and can't generate his own offense.

Both Duncan Robinson and Julius Randle getting serious consideration to join team USA in order to replace Beal.

I noticed you joined in 2015-2016.

Is that why you were making fun of Steve Novak the other day?

Because you didn't watch your boy Carmelo Anthony absolutely LOVE Steve Novak during our 2012-2013 run? While the Knicks ranked top 10 in defense, top 5 in 3's made and while Melo damn near won a scoring title alongside Steve Novak?

Because a real Carmelo Anthony fan doesn't make fun of the same exact Steve Novak who Carmelo Anthony loved for spacing out the court for.

And why are you as an NYK fan making fun of Duncan Robinson? Did you not watch the Atlanta Hawks series where we couldn't hit a 3 point shot or something? Because I did. And I know 100% you did too.

But yeah. A Melo fan doesn't have the right to laugh and mock Steve Novak like you have and a Knicks fan who's NYK team couldn't hit a 3 to save our life should be the LAST one laughing @ Duncan Robinson (the ATL Hawks killer).
