Maybe add another option of "Other" to the choices, as I can see arguments for teams not mentioned.

Why do you need to take away from the Bucks' championship this year? I'm boycotting this poll and thread.

Yes. Where's "other"?
I'd pick last year's Lakers bubble gum champs TBH. They'd be up there on the list.

I strongly understand your feelings, but it should be cool to compare champions from year to year in a rational fashion that doesn't ham handedly diminish certain winners. Let's just forgo the incessant "ugh injuries, Lebronz, Durantz," and all the other noise that's been a slight distraction from enjoying this year's playoffs.

The 2003 Spurs. Maybe 2007 Spurs too but unlikely.

2006 Heat, 2011 Mavs would be my best bet.
Maybe 2019 Raptors? I'd still lean Raptors but who knows

Where's the option, "all of them?"

Re: In the Last 20 Years, Which Champion Would Lose to '21 Bucks?
IMO analytics based basketball is pretty boring. There were periods in the past where defense was more aggressive, offense was more varied, etc. That said, analytics based offense works.
I think if you were to just pull out some great teams from the past and plunk them down in the NBA today with no adjustments, they would struggle. The 04 Pistons for example won with defense frequently but only shot 34.4% from 3. Would their defense work against a team shooting 39% from 3? Would Ben Wallace having to guard Lopez around the 3p line break their defensive concept?
IMO, there is generally too many rose colored glasses regarding the NBA of the past. Today's game might not have some of the intrigue that it used to but its brutally efficient. Milwaukee's 117 offensive rating would blow anyone out of the water from 2004 when the #1 team had a 112 rating and the Pistons had a 102 (which would put them dead last in the NBA this year).

All of them could... but you play to win championships, not derive them on excel sheet.
Giannis on 17-19 Warriors would also win championships, not 2 but 3 without injury, but he is not getting credit like KD.

Limiting our answers to only one seems like a major mistake by the OP.
Or, clearly reveals his motives for the thread.

I agree with this, with the caveat that it works both ways - I find it doubtful that the Bucks would have a 117 O-rating if time machined back to 2004. The modern "brutal" efficiency is on one side of the court, where in the early 2000s it had developed on the other. Much like today, it's usually not by pure chance that situations evolve. That's of course the trick with these long term comparisons, and I'm admittedly not sure the best way to circumvent it.

based on choices given, this 2021 iteration of Bucks should have best chance against the 06 heat and 19 raptors.

Its sort of weird how people try to discredit the Bucks because of injuries. They beat Kevin Durant...Who is the best player LeBron has beaten to make a finals? Paul George? James Harden? Old KG?

Someone give me the case against 19 raptors, I don't see it. With kawhi, gasol, siakim + lowry and van vleet helping we had the best Giannis defensive schemes of any team on this list.

Giannis also hyperextended his knee in really ugly fashion 3 weeks ago.
3 weeks ago, we had no assurances Giannis would be a fraction of the player he turned out to be in the Finals if at all and instead turned in a historical performance. Giannis made it look easy which is why many are taking it for granted. Most players would be out or at least severely limited as a result of the injury, Giannis elevated his play.

Im curious on why that Heat. They have Wade and a pretty dominant Shaq.
