I rather take Jaden springer cause he’s younger and theoretically more room to grow.

Edit : that say at 16/18 I can talk myself into cam Thomas as well

Regardless of what happens, I’ll be hopeful and Dadouv47 will be really worried. 8-)

even if we trade #6, Kenrich and a couple of 2nds for Cade, I will still be pessimistic about it

I think it's early in our rebuild to go all in and trade so many assets for a top 2-4 pick but I really hope Presti gonna take an agressive approach. This draft is still pretty deep with many guys that can be future good starters in this league, so what I would like the most is that we package some 2023 picks to move up both 16 & 18. Not crazy to think that we could pick 6,10,13 without moving very good picks. I'm not an expert at scouting prospects so the Thunder FO knows better but if we can avoid Davion Mitchell & Kispert and go after either Giddey, Sengun or Moody, that's a nice start for me :)

Davion Mitchell is one of the most NBA ready players in this draft. He just shot over 40% from 3 last season while going on to win a national championship! And he's a great defender. I like him more than any of the 3 guys you mentioned. I don't understand why he's getting so much hate from Thunder fans. Just my opinion. I'd love to have him next to SGA. People point out Mitchell is old but he and SGA are the same age. And that's who we're building around.

I don’t think it’s crazy to think crazy to think Bouknight could be a player the same level as CJ McCollum. Possibly a better defender and a bit worse shooter. I also think it’s possible shai can be the same level of player as Dame. What could Portland have done all of these years of they had our assets to add to a core of CJ and Dame?

Bouknight kinda reminds me of Zach Lavine but less bouncy.

Still feel pretty much the same as a few weeks ago. Other than the very long shot they take Sengun would be somewhat OK with anybody realistically there at 6 assuming they stay there. Think I'd put any of Moody/Barnes/Bouknight/Wagner ahead of Kuminga, but I get they keep taking these swings on guys too. And FWIW, Bouknight was playing after an injury last year from what I recall as well and his freshman numbers look a bit better in terms of shooting on larger sample size.

To boot, his Synergy numbers are a bit more efficient too:

I don't really value the archetype a ton (unless he ends up being a solid playmaker) but don't really mind it if he might be a decent defender too. Part of why I don't entirely love Jalen Green and am not interested in Cam Thomas.

I can see that. I keep reading that he’s a good defender when locked in. That’s what excites me. People act like he’s a guy with one skill but the reality is he seems like a guy that’s pretty well rounded with the exception of only one skill, passing.

His height concerns me a bit and there are reasons to question if his shooting improvement is legitimate. Personally I would be much more open to a guy like him or Duarte in a couple of years if the rebuild goes well.

Yeah, Mitchell's shooting sort of did the inverse of Bouknight. Wasn't very good then had 1 somewhat outlier senior season shooting the 3 and his FT% wasn't as great at any point I don't think. I keep going back and forth on Bouknight as well. Think I might prefer Moody/Wagner but I waver some, feels like people are getting lower on him some places and higher elsewhere.

But if he can defend on ball fairly well and just play some combo guard next to SGA the fit isn't bad either.

David Aldridge did another one of his articles of comments from coaches and executives about prospects. Before now I felt like Kuminga’s work either has been undersold. Part of this was due to Brian Shaw’s interview where he praised Jalen Green’s work ethic extensively in comparison to Kuminga. After reading some of these comments it makes me feel a little better about his drive.
He has a pretty impressive story as well, coming over from Congo at 13, with his brother. I think he gets help up by the noise around him and the people around him. But if you’re really doing your background on him, he had to navigate being 13 in a country by himself without his parents. A really high-level prospect that a lot of people wanted to get their hands on. I think it’s really impressive that he navigated it. He didn’t have the parents to say ‘hey, back the **** off.’ It was just him and his brother navigating different high schools and different AAU tournaments and all the other ****. I actually see it the other way; I think it’s really impressive.

He came here by himself at 13. He has a hell of a story. Think about the kind of people with his gift, in New York, or the east coast, that gravitated toward him. He got the worst of the worst. Those scumbags who were all trying to make a dollar off of him. These high-level AAU kids, 90 percent of them, you have to treat them like abused children because they’ve been preyed on by adults.

I think I'd still take Moody over Bouknight or Wagner but for me right now its Moody's track record of efficiency, lack of injury history, younger age. Wagner I fail to see the outcome where he's an all star but I like that he's a jack of all trades and I believe that his stellar defense in college will at least translate somewhat. Bouknight I worry a little about his tunnel vision and injury history but I love the explosiveness and high difficulty shot making. Very much warming up to the idea of him because it's not at all difficult to imagine him fixing those weaknesses and becoming 20+ppg scorer and potential future all star. Moody though just seems to me like he's got all star level upside from the wing position and that's just too valuable to pass on imo. It's hard not to watch him and Middleton in the finals and not question the parallels. Even similar weaknesses when it comes to their playmaking (I know Middy has decent assist #s but he's not a great passer, imo). Moody's obviously not the explosive athlete Bouknight is but the strength and ability to get to the FT line at his age are startling.

It seems like Wagner or Moody at ten seems pretty likely if okc can work out a deal with New Orleans.

This would be about an ideal outcome for me. One guy who I don't know if he works out but is a slight swing, another higher floor with upside.

If they do that, take a big in the early 2nd or trade up to late 1st, should be plenty available (and either way they're gonna be bad next year so worst case sign whoever).

Brandon is funny.

No idea about the answer but I love Giddey so much as a player. Guess 9th or 10th is the right spot/value for him but he may end up being one of the guys outside of the top 4 with the most upside (passing skill and basketball IQ is already so high for his age)

Ya he’s definitely replaced Katz as the most humorous thunder media member.

looks like Vrenz is pretty confident about his chances. Still hope he's gonna be available at 35 or 36...
