Possible Bledsoe would be included in that.

Or if he does get bought out he becomes one of the better guards available (despite all his faults) in this market.

Do guys with 2 years $37.5M left on their contract get bought out?

3.9m guaranteed on his last year but unless he kicks back closer to 10m I doubt he gets bought out immediately.

Bledsoe was worse than Jeff Teague this past year. He's no longer the defender he once was. The defensive regression started his last year in Milwaukee and continued last year. We can find better.

However, it doesn't matter, he'll be with the Lakers next year.

I'd probably bet on a 31 year old without big injury concerns bouncing back to a pretty useful player he was a year prior then him forgetting how to play basketball but if you wanna listen to your numbers go for it.

Betting on Bledsoe to be a useful playoff player is a continued losing play.

Everyone we pursue we should be considering how they fit in the playoffs.

You wouldn't be betting on Bledsoe to be your #2 option on any given night next to a wild Giannis anymore though. You'd be betting on him coming in and letting Jrue and/or Donte rest for 20 minutes so they can close out the game. I'd take that bet especially with what we have to offer and factoring that in I really doubt you'd find much better.

The New Orleans lockerroom situation must have been toxic considering SVG got canned only a year in.

I suspect Bledsoe didn’t help matters. He didn’t want to be there.

However it seems more likely that he sulked and half-assed it in this strange covid season as opposed to him forgetting how to play defense.

That’d especially be in lower pressure situations. Choking in the playoffs and then being dealt as a negative asset in the Bucks’ aggressive attempt to upgrade must have been a huge ego hit.

Bledsoe would probably be at his best as an energy sub like this.

However if Donte is out for a prolonged period the Bucks might be desperate enough to start him.

Either way it’s probably all academic. It’d take a ton of humility for Bledsoe to come back in a lesser role, and Rich Paul isn’t know for steering his clients in those kind of directions.

Watching your team trade you then immediately win a championship has to hurt your pride a fair bit. Felt like he really wanted to be here so I feel bad for the dude, but I think if/when Bledsoe gets bought out, he'll find his way to the Lakers after they strike out on every notable free agent because they have zero cap room and literally no one cares to give up anything for KCP and Kyle Kuzma.

And all you have to do is play as good as Dennis Schroder for an $80 million payday apparently.

Bledsoe for peanuts has to look good to Lebron vs cashing out Schroder long term.

Trading for Westbrook is another option too.

Whatever they do Marc Stein says Schroder is likely out:

“The easiest thing would be re-signing Dennis Schröder, but Dennis Schröder wants crazy money. Dennis Schröder thinks he’s a $100 million player. He’s already turned down an extension in the $80 millions, and the vibe from the Lakers really is, I think they’d rather move on from Schröder. I don’t think they see Schröder as a starter. I think they like him as a Sixth Man, but they want something more out of their main backcourt guy.”

I want $100 million too. I think Schroder comes back to the Lakers with his tail between his legs begging for that $80 million back.

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Seems like Woj expects Schroder to return to LA.

I honestly can't believe Schroder turned down 4/$84 million. I get what he's saying about wanting to explore free agency but I just think it's going to end up being a poor decision and he's going to come back to the Lakers front office begging for that $84 million and they might've moved on or just say no this time.

“I for sure want to be a Laker, but I still want to see my options,” Schröder said then. “After eight years, it’s my first time seeing what other people, other clubs have interest in me. That’s what I said too, but nobody mentioned that in the media. Everybody’s saying I just want to sign long-term with the Lakers.”

Apparently OKC offered Shai and #6 for for #1.

Rumors are Detroit isn’t all in on Cade, so I wonder how much they considered this.

If they need to add pick number 31 to get the deal done, I would gladly take Dort off their hands.

Disclaimer: no idea what SGA’s injury is about.

But… is it even 50/50 Cade will be better than SGA in 5 years?

I’m not sure. SGA is really good.

I don't even love Cade the way some others do but that's an easy no. SGA is about to get paid and there's nobody you really feel great about at #6. If OKC really wants Cade, they have plenty more picks they can add to try to tempt Detroit.

Thing is LA almost has to give him something because of the cap not letting them sign anyone, and once he's signed he's a contract to match up whenever someone else inevitably demands to be traded. But yea you'd much rather have him low 20s than low 30s. I've never been a huge fan of his, but kind of like the Lakers view, he's a solid NBA player but will likely be overpaid. I'd guess some kind of sign/trade this offseason could make a lot of sense
