Denied what? That he was excited that he now plays for his hometown team?

He denied that he was "borderline in tears" and, IIRC, said something to the effect of "it's cool" to play in Cleveland.

The point is he's not going to go to them to beg them not to trade him, so I'm not sure what we're supposed to be up against.

Tyus Jones was pretty emotional when Flip grabbed him in the first round as well ... traded a couple years later just as he was becoming a reliable NBA PG :nonono:

I could see Jake Layman being traded with a couple future second round draft picks in exchange for cap space a middling second.

Beasley+Rubio+2 protected 1st take it or leave it. I might give them McDaniels or Bolmaro too if they demand it.

I'm OK with Nance. Turner seems like is going to Warriors. Bobby Portis just won champ with bucks so very likely he stays with Mil. We could sign Markannen or trade for Galinari or Harrison Barnes or even a Marvin Bagley.

Go big or stay home and draft/develop....my guess is we trade for potential multiple picks if we can't land a player we want

I think the most likely scenario is we do nothing. Maybe buy a pick.

Culver, Layman, and Juancho don’t have future roles here, but their salaries are useful in making trades. I think Rosas will hold on to them tonight in hopes of making a bigger trade down the road this offseason.

I'm hoping we don't see a repeat of last offseason where I kept waiting for a move to fill the gaping hole at PF, only to end up with an overpaid Juancho.

Ok fine, but the team may not necessarily like the negative press feedback that comes with letting go the local kid unless it's for a clear upgrade. A Juancho/Culver package wouldn't be that. Remember how much the fan base here hated letting go Tyus?

Thought it was interesting Rosas said the main focus of free agency will be on our own guys rather than outside players....that's Vanderbilt and McLaughlin.....while trades will be important for upgrading the overall talent level. So we'll see what kinds of moves happen.

I do hope Hernangomez serves as a caution for the front office, that you can't necessarily count on internal development. May make them more likely to make a deal.

A trade for Ben Simmons remains highly unlikely for the Wolves. League sources say Daryl Morey continues to ask for a king’s ransom for Simmons. So far, he has not found any takers. Will the asking price drop? If it does, Rosas will try to get back in with some kind of multi-team trade that nets Morey the win-now return that he covets while getting one of the best defensive players in the game to offensive-minded Minnesota. He has not completely given up on the possibility of adding Simmons, sources say, which falls in line with his previous playing of the market.

Who thinks we're making a move tonight?

I'm at about 60% that we move in for a mid-late first if there's someone on the board we like and move one or some of Culver, Okogie, Layman, Juancho.

Just a gut thing.

Hmmm....maybe I’m too high on McDaniels but don’t love that. Implies we’d move McDaniels in a Simmons package. I’d move Beasley, Rubio, Bolmaro, and three lightly protected picks. But I really would want to hang onto McDaniels.

Let's say we include McDaniels in simmons trade if we can sign McDermott we'll be a solid team.

Dlo
Edwards
McDermott
Simmons
Towns

Alot of shooters around Simmons all he gotta do is drive and kick and set screens to free up every one.
