I think grimes was solid pick up. But you are 100 right on everything else we gave up on 19 and 21 pick for Schroeder and Fournier. That is horrific, and that is formula to treadmill team if I seen one.

Again take a risk on kid with high talent. Go after cam reddish, see what he can do. Maybe get monk on a cheap deal.

I'd have been ok with Grimes @25 if we hadn't just p**sed way #19.

I’m with you , trading away the 19 pick for top 18 protected pick was a joke. We hire all these top draft experts to trade away picks. What a joke

It could be the Knicks FO maintaining awesome radio silence and that the deal is still on or that there was discussion and the Cavs felt it wasn't worth it/went another way/Knicks felt they asked for too much.

Or Perry\Aller kind of suck. :D

Maybe the Knicks hired draft experts to know when the same value would be available in 25-36 as it was in 19-21. And then worked with a cap expert in Aller around a plan to reduce cap space by not drafting a player, but also retaining a future pick. The Knicks traded a pick for a pick. Yeah, I don't the protection but there's a certain intelligence to this move.

We need to let him go, he's mo longer going to be a value deal and he's not a true starting C. Once you get into the business of paying backup centers more than $7 million per season you're throwing money into a fire.

Nerlins isn’t a priority Mitch is better and Taj was perfectly fine as a back up 5 main thing for us has to be a point guard if we strike out we probably bring Payton back and I’m not sure I can suffer another season of that

I think we will give the MLE (5M) to some backup rin runner. What would be the options?

Dieng, Robin Lopez, Tony Bradley, Isaiah Hartenstein. Maybe Cody Zeller.

I'd look at Tony Bradley, he can actually catch a basketball.

Noel played last year on a 1 yr vet min deal and far exceeded his value..and as I said all year if he had hands he’d be close to a max player, there was a reason he was signed for that last summer, bringing him back all depends on price..also people counting on Mitch and Taj are forgetting Mitch can’t play for more than 20 games without getting hurt..you need depth

Only player who wants to come is Kelly Oubre, who I think is more interested in the Knicks ability to overpay him, than anything.

Any players on any of those teams worth a sh*t, that might come back to the Knicks in a S&T? Probably not. Oh well.

Name them.

Right now the Knicks don't possess the following:

A starting NBA PG
A starting NBA wing
A real backup Center

And honestly, there is probably an argument for another veteran wing, but that's less likely.
Oh, and Vildoza is unproven running the NBA point, McBride is rookie and IQ isn't a PG. But we can assume one of those are the backup PG.

Buzz I guarantee you that the one option MOST of the board would get behind is a trade for Sexton. Everyone knows he’s not a true PG. That much is fairly obvious. But he’s 22. Not some 28-30 year old overpay. There aren’t many guys at Collins age that can pour in 24-4-4 on 48% FG while being an above average three point shooter (regardless of his awful situation in Cleveland). He’s the exact North South guard that Thibs wants and can mold.

Of course you will have some detractors but that’s the best option to get a collective stamp of approval on a board that mostly has an issue with every player in the league.

He's not a free agent. For all we know the Cavs aren't going to trade him. They didn't draft one of the guards.

The Cavs were ALWAYS going to choose Garland over Sexton. That’s been obvious for a long time. Sexton is not in their plans. He might not get traded here but I’m telling you they ain’t paying him long term. Sexton and Garland don’t work. Just like LaVine and Coby.

Any chance us cutting cap was preparing to accept a Sexton / Kevin Loves contract while maintaining some cap flexibility to go after players we want ?

Why draft a young prospect with the 19th pick when you can sign Kelly Oubre and Elfrid Payton to multi-year deals.
