To put it in perspective, our vet minimum roster filler is better then our NJ "big offseason"

Mills | Brown | Johnson | Blake vs....

If we could get embiid or Kawhi that would be amazing too... but we dont have the money or the assets to land all-nba defenders/allstars of that calibur.

Turner would require a package of picks/good young players. probably 2 decent firsts and someone better then Joe harris.

If we get a sizable TPE I just got the green light from Tsai to go ahead and get the deal done. He said let’s win at any cost :meditate:

Yeah I know. I think TPE is simply used if you find a team that wants to unload a salary and that player would probably have a bad contract or the team is overloaded with a position. Probably someone like Eric Gordon would be a good example. Pacers would want a lot for Myles. Sucks.

I wouldn't give up Cam Thomas to unload DJ. Just eat his contract this year, then he's expiring next season and becomes a neutral salary matching trade piece. As much as I pissed and moaned about him he can play regular season minutes and was definitely better alongside Harden.

No need to include Cam Thomas or any draft picks we took.

P, you sound like the Teflon Don Sean himself!

Of course, I agree. Facilitating Spencer's next destination via S&T should carry enough value to offload DeAndre.

This team has had a great offseason so far. We resigned blake who was probably are most important free agent. Bruce is back for another year. Spencer is definitely gone but we knew it was the most probable outcome, hope we s&t him and get something back. Though we lost Uncle Jeff (happy he got more than the minimum, well deserved. I'll miss him) we signed a great back up PG in mills that has played in a lot of big games throughout his career. The team also got a lot tougher with the James Johnson signing. Should be the primary backup PF. We also apparently got two steals in the draft, though we've heard that before and have been burned, I can't help but feel excited about the Thomas and Sharpe selections.

That being said we're still thin at the wing positions. It seems probable that Joe comes off the bench and plays most of the backup wing minutes, but this team is injury prone and should have an insurance in place besides Alize Johnson.

Some options:

Danny Green is the best backup wing that the team could realistically sign. Hope we get him.

Josh hart would be great but he'd command more money than the team would/could offer and he's restricted which makes him near impossible

Avery bradley is another realistic option though he's undersized.

Kelly oubre seems to be realistic, though I don't know if his skillset is what this team needs from a backup wing.

Jj reddick is washed though would probably jump on the opportunity of signing with the nets. Bryn Forbes became irrelevant as soon as Mills agreed to a deal. Justise winslow can't stay healthy. James ennis could be an option as well.

He's not wrong. It's like the Mozgov-Howard trade. Young has 1 year left at a higher number. About $15mil for 1 vs about $20mil for 2. I'm too lazy to estimate the tax implications, but it's unlikely to be that different. I doubt we're that interested in adding an extra $5mil plus taxes this year.

I would be down for that. Thad is the "Lebron stopper" lol but he'll fill in for Jeff Green nicely. And I think we should get a 1st out of this along with the TPE. Devonta Graham was able to fetch a 1st, and also Derozan. We're also giving up our 1st from this year.

Speculation that Claxton could be dealt as part of the Dinwiddie trade, as he was a last minute scratch from Summer League.

Supposedly there's a rumor about Capella coming to us, but I haven't seen it.

If we can get Capela, that is worth it. If not I don't see why we are trading Nic.

Capela would be great, but that's a lot of extra salary and tax. I find it hard to believe.

We either get a first rounder or we dump jordan. really unlikely we do both.

if we want a player back in the deal, we need to dump jordan. we arent taking back 10 million in salary and the 30 million in tax that goes with it.

it would be the same idea.... to get a better player in the deal. there are alot of good guys out there besides capella who could be had.

i think marks has always been avg with contract signings... but he has been elite with trades. id trust any deal he includes claxton on.

True, he hasn't really made a bad trade yet (and no, I do not believe that Shamet for Bey was a bad trade. Bey is overrated to me on here).
