Y'all don't remember Wall and Draymond hitting waivers last year? It was pretty out in the open.

This is my issue with open bidding.

Yea, that wasn't me

I was just taking notes. That was pretty much out in the open too

You know what our young ambitious cats need? Some leader who's encouraging with a smile and a hug, like Kemba. He's the good cop, I think RJ, the rookies will gravitate towards him. Thibs is the bad cop. This signing can really make a young team like us to take big leaps.

this is a colossal upgrade from elfrid payton and we have arguably the best backup PG in the NBA with Rose who should have won 6moy. This is the most stacked we've been at PG in the history of the franchise probably

Nah, team tank is elated. This is one of those moves where people celebrate now then ask why were giving up 114ppg during the season.

I want Kemba to succeed cause he's from NY, but this is the type of move that can backfire big-time. So it's welcomed with open arms.

Multiple years, I assume it's a 2+1. Would fit with the rest of the contracts.

I mean I don’t really see any proof of that. Plus if it really happened, private bidding does not stop it. With open bidding we will at least know who is doing what.

Wacky got draft compensation for it.

I still don’t see any issue with that though. He was a rebuilding team, he had to do it cause nobody would take him in a trade. What’s wrong about that?

Celtics give a lot of credit to Kemba for helping unlock Taytum and Brown after the awful Kyrie age. Hopefully he can do the same for RJ and our young ones.

I’d rather take a chance on a Kemba renaissance than give guys like DeRozan huge money.

I’m a fan of this move. Let kemba run the point and have rose be bench lead with iq burks and Toppin.
Big + is not needing to have kemba be on the floor 30+ minutes. He can legitimately split duties so I’m not as worried about him burning out

Told y’all they were talking to the thunder for kemba

As long as Rose and Kemba are healthy and stay healthy, we should be fine and should compete for homecourt again in the playoffs. We have a lot more fire power offensively with Kemba and Fournier then with Elf and Bully. I expect Randle and RJ to keep improving. Mitch is an X factor. We also kept our bench which won us a lot of games. Defensively we might take a few steps back but I'm pretty confident Thibs will adjust and we'll still be a pretty good defensive team.

The objective this offseason was to improve the talent and get a PG and I feel we did that. I don't think Kemba is the long term answer at PG but he'll be a solid stop gap along with Rose.

And this offseason did not hurt our future! We still have tradeable contracts and all future picks!

The problem is he keeps getting hurt. In the playoffs he looked like 2014 Raymond felton. If he not healthy this is gonna be bad

Kemba might be our best pg since Felton. Best PG rotation if they stay healthy if not, no risk. Would be nice to get one more.

Since Marbury.

I still believe in Knox.

IMO Knox+Mitch for Wiseman would put the full talents of our out-going guys on display. Knox needs a green light to go full Rashard Lewis.

Not a bad idea to get value for Mitch now if we don't plan on paying him, but I'm not sure Wiseman will ever be as good as Mitch has already shown to be. Maybe I'm just down on him more than others. Mitch when he was healthy was a beast and has huge upside if he can stop fouling. He's a lob threat, rim protector, rebounder, and can even guard on the perimeter passably.

I guess Wiseman has the bigger upside, but I think we could do better for Mitch.

I would love to see Myles Turner at center for us and then we sign a traditional backup big to handle larger centers in the playoffs.

Imagine:

Kemba
Fournier
RJ
Randal
Turner

I feel like that lineup would be unstopable...probably not stopping anybody though.

Backfire big time? sorry, I'm not seeing that. Lowry, lonzo, cp3, derozan, almost anything else that was out there had more risk.

I don’t think so. This is the type of the move that actually won’t backfire big time. Trading picks to pay Derozan big money is type of move that can backfire big time. This is a move, at its worst, is a slight improvement over what we had in Payton
