FYI to the people that don’t know anything Kemba has a better defensive rating than demar. Oh and he passes and has range and dribble...

I swear some of you just shouldn’t be knicks fans

Kemba at $8 million per > Demar at $85 million > Knicks Role Players they resigned.

Exactly

 it's too late in life to give up being a fan of this team. It's like a marriage I want out of but the time invested is too much to turn my back on.

Screw it I like the roster. Bunch of guys who are likable, even Randle a little. Obi will have a big year and Knicks clearly high on RJ.

Just want Mitch to stay and play. Then I’m good.

I'm happy, but for real how many washed former superstar guards come here to end their career? Kemba fills out the All-Time Knick medical team nicely:

Amar'e
McDyess
TMac
Francis
Kemba

Also, not convinced Randle can adjust his PF/PG dominant self to play with Kemba/Fournier. Then again I'd be thrilled if we see a regression from "All NBA Randle" if it means 2nd round or ECF.

I've been wondering about Schroder. Ultimately the player is in charge but I cannot image that his agent wasn't telling him to sign the 80m extension the Lakers offered earlier in the year. Schroeder wanted 100m and thought he'd get it via FA.

Someone had to have thought they had a deal in their back pocket, to turn down 80m in LA.

Either way Schroder has to be pissed eight now in the realization that he turned down generational money that he'll likely never make back.

That agent should make good use of Zoom with Schroeder because he does have the look of a fella that could go "street" at any moment!

Nah, team tank is elated. This is one of those moves where people celebrate now then ask why were giving up 114ppg during the season.

I want Kemba to succeed cause he's from NY, but this is the type of move that can backfire big-time. So it's welcomed with open arms.

Well, first, Kemba ain't getting paid much. If he really sucks, he's getting paid less than Alex Burks and Noel, another of our bench players. If he's really trash, it hurts, but it won't be hard to pivot to Derrick Rose, who has credibility.

Second, I'm looking forward to seeing how Thibs incorporates Kemba and Fournier and produces a top defense. The thing is, we had Elfrid last season who was shyt, so we're basically replacing Bullock with Fournier. This is where Thibs needs to coach. But I don't think that Kemba is that much more shyt than Elfrid that he's going to tank us.

Lastly, I was Team Tank in the past, but it's not happening with Thibs. Thibs will crawl and struggle to squeeze every single win he can, good or bad.

Well, for most of them, we paid too damn much. Amare earned his pay his first year but decided to punch fire extinguishers and was an injury risk, and got maxed. McDyess we traded for. TMac we wanted the expiring and paid too much for. Francis was a Larry Brown special. Kemba is getting paid by OKC to play for us for 8 mill. I feel pretty happy about that.

This offseason we:

Upgraded Bullock to Evan Fournier
Upgraded Payton to Kemba Walker
Kept all our 1st round picks
Added another 1st round pick
Kept all our kids
Drafted 4 guys
Gave out flexible 2+1 deals to players already in our system

Then think of having a better catch and shoot person and go get his own shot player in Fournier instead of bullock and tell me this team isn’t an upgrade. Is it winning a chip no, but am I ready to say let’s go see the hawks in the playoffs again. Hell yeah.

Let Trae learn to try and cover kemba. And if not kemba Fournier. And if not Fournier Barrett. Trae ain’t hiding on defense this time around

Remember how whoever was guarding payton would play so far off him. We still won that many games with payton starting. This has to count for something

It also buys Leon time. I don't think Rose thinks this ragtag group challenges for anything. But it buys him a year, when he's clearly playing for 2023/2024.

Payton is **** but he's been a better defender the last couple seasons than Kemba, and Fournier is really bad. Like I said, Thibs isn't a magician, there's only so much he can do, case in point that Twolves team he coached to the playoffs was 27th in the league defensively. We're putting everything on RJ to be the guy who takes the toughest matchups now, which was Bullocks job. A bad defensive backcourt can lead to breakdowns all over the floor, and Randle gave up a lot of open threes to stretches so we'll see just how much of a step back we take on D.

Kemba is hometown so I want him to succeed but the fact is his body has been breaking down the last two seasons.
