So we still don't have the full details of the Lowry S&T?

I don't have any insider info on this and I haven't seen him say anything, but I don't think he wanted to stay. I don't think he appreciated all those DNP's.

I'm sure, but he has no one to blame but himself for those DNPs. Unless you are saying Spo has a personal vendetta against Nunn?

Would be a excellent pick up by the Celtics. They still need more role players, gonna be hard with expensive ass Horford.

He is laughably not a small ball 4. Being able to shoot doesn’t mean you are.
He was way too slow footed to play in our system. It was not a fit.
I agree. He is slow like a center with the body of a PF. All he can do is shoot. I like young T7 better.
I didnt want the dude, but many in here felt all shooters are all the same and easily replaceable. They thought he was just as good as Kelly.

They can agree in principle on the trade but Toronto and/or Miami could be looking to expand it to make it a 3+ team trade, like sending Dragic going to Dallas. They have time although it would be nice to know for sure what the trade is. Miami could be looking to move KZ for a pick and open up another roster spot.

To put in perspective, the trial run only cost us a Chris Silva and useless Mo Harkless. We can pretend none of it ever happened

I'm not saying that. I think the DNP's had more to do with Spoelstra than him, but I don't think it was a personal vendetta.

Re: MIAMI HEAT Offseason Thread 2021 Vol.4 - Beasley Time
So does anyone have an explanation why Miami was ok with letting Nunn go when it looked like he could be retained at a very small number?
I get Herro is younger but just looking at their stats from last year...
Herro 1635 min, 107 3s, 36% 3pt%, 80% FT% 815 pts, 268 reb, 35 stl, Age 21
Nunn 1650 min, 122 3s, 38% 3pt%, 93% FT% 816 pts, 170 reb, 53 stl, Age 25
I don't get why one is so coveted while the other wasn't retained for around 5 mil a year, I would think that would at least be a solid trade chip at the deadline. It seems like a real waste of an asset to just let him go.

We will under a two way and insurance when Bradley goes down to inevitable injury stint.

What about Bjelica? 38% 3pt shooter, comes here and doesn't get any run either.
Spo is just a bad coach.

I flirted with those thoughts too at first but then you remember that we do not know the whole story behind it. I could see Nunn's agent looking for a bigger role elsewhere and asking Miami to drop the QO. He was never going to sign the QO and he was not in Miami's plans. To keep good relations with agent and player in case there is a future interest, they dropped the QO.
There was no sign-and-trade market. Why create an uncomfortable situation?
I get it, it feels like we lost an asset but is it worth the bad feelings? What if we can't trade him later on? He would be extremely unhappy with all the DNP's. Mutual decision to part ways if you ask me.

They haven't revealed the story behind it yet. But my guess it had to do with decided Dipo or Nunn. And how that would affect the cap situation going fwd. Personally I would chose Nunn.AirP. wrote:So does anyone have an explanation why Miami was ok with letting Nunn go when it looked like he could be retained at a very small number?

The GOAT has gone "home".
If only we had tried harder to get him another ring and put the exclamation point on his goat status.

Word was the Sacramento Kings didn't care much for Bjelica either. Hence why they took our crappy offer. We was just a bad fit in the whole sense of the word. A coach should not be forced to play someone who he is not comfortable playing.

I would have handed him the scoring 6th man roll for back PG and signed him longer term next year.

Any coach who requires certain players to fit his coaching style, is a terrible coach.
Good coaches mold their coaching style to fit the players they have, and make it work. They find a way to use the talent on the roster.
