Suggs is already a far better player at this stage, && I think Cole will be the last one to realize it.

Fultz might actually be a much better fit next to Suggs than I originally anticipated. I already sense some tension developing on the court between Suggs/Anthony.

There were a couple of cringe-worthy possessions where Cole was dribbling without any real purpose and Suggs was at the corner calling for the ball and Cole just wouldn't pass it. That's not going to fly. Cole needs to realize that it's going to work better for him in the long run if he learns how to be a playmaker.

With that said, I don't think that tonight's play was indicative of Cole's trajectory. Same with RJ, who frankly was atrocious tonight with his carelessness.

The Franz slander is even more ridiculous. Seeing people say we **** up the 8th pick based off of one game lol

Team could play more organized on offense, but they've spent most of the time practicing D. I also like that he told Cole to give the ball to Suggs.

For his Magic debut, I'd give him a B- (if we lost, would've been a C).

I agree with this.
I think we're about to see the world of possibilities with creative coaching in ways that had not been available to us throughout the Cliff years. But, I also think we'll probably it a couple of buzzsaws that will make us yearn for some of Cliff's true and steady style. Nonetheless, it'll be entertaining at least. Overall, I'm feeling optimistic about his coaching style and am excited to see where we go with it.

Hopefully next game will be better for Cole. I think it was obvious to all of us that he was trying to play hero ball at the end of the game.

He's a wing. Call it SF/PF if you want, but he plays like a wing.

100%

Honestly, the biggest positive from Franz's game tonight was that he was 0-6 from 3. At Michigan, one of his biggest criticisms was that he would turn into an unwilling shooter at times. For him to have shot the ball this terribly, but to still have taken 6 of them, is a positive IMO. It means Mosely is telling him he's a shooter, and that he needs to keep shooting. That should pay off in the long run.

Franz looked terrified out there tonight. But he kept shooting. That's a positive.

Both teams were pressing, guys flying all over the place, missed assignments. I take very little from
Summer league least of all the first game but Suggs I thought played well. Idgaf that he took 22 shots. Other than that, typically overreactions towards Wagner based on his first summer league game. I thought this board was smarter than that. Embarrassing.

Despite not hitting anything and some bad turnovers there was stuff to like out of Franz today. Would like to see him get more action downhill where he can make reads rather than just see him planted behind the 3pt line.

Did Suggs have the most points in his debut of the top picks? Seems like it.

I came away a little disappointed in RJ man.

Wagner will be fine. He's got to adjust.

Timma...sign this guy.. and his wife.

SUGGS... I dont need to say a single thing.

RJ seemed quite rusty, outside of a few moments where he looked fluid taking it to the basket. A nice reverse and a few other drives looked good. Im hoping its just a rust thing. His handle and pass looked very loose today.

Can he handle the rock as a wing though? I feel like that is almost a prerequisite if you're going to be anything more than 'a guy' on offense. I just don't love his ceiling for the 8th pick. I hope you're right about his condition because the lack of quickness is my first concern from what we saw.

Seriously? What was the context? Was it maybe one of those dirty "you a bad mofo" looks or was he legit annoyed?

Cole needs to be put back in his box. It really irked me when Suggs was on fire and asked for the ball and Cole just waived him off to take it himself and throw up a brick. I feel hes been talking a lot of game the last few days and has tried to be the alpha of the group and the more experienced guy up until now, so its maybe a bit of an ego hit for him to be somewhat exposed on the court. We need Jamahl to be the father figure here a bit.

I didnt like when i saw Cole turn up to the airport with a limo full of women and booze the day these guys got drafted. Not the vibe i want to set around the team.

yeah, he has to grow and find his footing as coach like every player or coach that come into this league....and that's ok. With a young roster, we aren't yearning to win games; just get better. I really want to see how he adjusts for game 2.
