I've been listening to local Miami radio for almost a decade and I still don't really get it. It's obviously a favor, but it's also framed as a coach in the locker room and on the bench. But even that doesn't make sense, so yea, like I said, I don't get it.

Just basic deferred cap circumvention by the Heat.

Dude had a 10/8 year and took a >50% pay cut to allow the Heat to sign Lebron and Bosh. 3.5 million. Like half the MLE.

Riley just keeping him happy and quiet.

Poll question. Which is a worse sign as the 15th guy: Haslem or the bucks signing GK?

How tall are you, btw?

When I watch pro golf on TV I've been struck by how short the legs are of many of the golfers (proportional to their height). Like that must be a benefit to a golfer.

For The Athletic subscribers, our beloved Seth Partnow has been putting together his annual player tiers, which can be read here:
https://theathletic.com/2762726/2021/08/12/nba-player-tiers-joel-embiid-luka-doncic-damian-lillard-among-tier-2-superstars-just-short-of-the-very-top/

Since we now have Tiers 2-5, we can obviously deduce who is in Tier 1. He also assigns an approximate value to each tier that he uses to basically determine who he thinks has the best rosters going into the season. Based on those point totals, we have the following rankings (split out by conference, but overall ranking in parenthesis)

East
1. Brooklyn (1)
2. Milwaukee (2)
3. Miami (9)
4. Boston (10)
5. Philly (11)
6. Atlanta (13)
T7. Chicago (T15)
T7. Indiana (T15)
9. Toronto (T17)

11. Washington (21)
12. Charlotte (22)
13. Detroit (26)

Brook Lopez: Tier 4B (down from 4A last year)
Jrue Holiday: Tier 3A (same as last year)
Khris Middleton: Tier 2C (up from 3A last year)
Giannis Antetokounmpo: Tier 1 (not sure what letter, but I would guess 1A just based on reading Seth's takes in the past)

I'm surprised Jrue stayed at the same tier as last year but I guess he just wasn't underated by Seth Partnow.

Yeah, seems like the general consensus is that Partnow is overrating Jrue. Likewise with Middleton who ended up in Tier 2C along with Tatum, Kyrie, CP3, and Bam Adebayo.

Tier 3A: Booker, Jrue, Trae, Zion
Tier 3B: Beal, Mitchell, Ja, Murray, KAT, Conley, Shai
Tier 3C: Simmons, Draymond, Jaylen Brown, Siakam, Westbrook, LaVine
