Philly has no use for what we have if we’re not moving Edwards, which we’re not. I guess Dlo/Beasley would be something they’d consider, but I don’t know we’d move DLo. Would we?

Unfortunely, no.

Pat
Edwards
McDaniels
Ben
KAT

Would be something!

No team is giving up multiple (a lot of) picks for Simmons, no team is going to subsidize Philly getting a star. Simmons isn't worth much in trade value and why Morey would rather try and hid that by adding value to Simmons to get an upgrade than sell whatever package he can get for him alone. The issue he will probably run into is a team trading their star likely wouldn't want Simmons to start building around. Morey offering Simmons + for a star isn't as easy as it seems.

I absolutely love this trade. I’m going to miss seeing how Culver develops but getting Patrick Beverly is a gift. He’s exactly the tone setter we need on defense. We’re going to frustrate the heck out of you and now we have players on board to do it. Bev, McD, Josh, Vando, and Bolmaro are players who can absolutely spend time in your front pocket out on the wing. Even Beasley, Prince, and Edwards have the athleticism to play above average “D” if they Give-a-Care (scale down version). Layman too, forgot about him.

One more move for a post player (after signing Vando) and we’re off as far as I’m concerned. We’re also positioned to make a big move later on, should the opportunity present itself.

Gross just gross Rosas just trying to put a band aid on his huge mistakes. With the wolves luck you just know Culver will figure things out in Memphis and be useful.

Wow happy to be traded to the Wolves. That's not something you hear very often.

When the alternative is Memphis it is not surprising.

Decent trade...improves the team slightly. Good thing about Bev is that he is a fairly decent 3 pt shooter...iirc he has been shooting at around 38% from 3 in last 5 seasons or so which is good.

Wolves needed enforcer for this soft team.

Traded two worthless guys for a dog who’s on an expiring if he doesn’t play well.

It’s a win win trade.

It's nice to know that Rosas is willing to admit his mistakes/cut his losses and move on from players that don't work out.

I visited Memphis and I thought it was great. The Whole mystique from the song Walking in Memphis. I feel like it is a place I'd like to live.

Did not expect this trade. I didn't like Beverly's cheap shot on Booker in the playoffs, but outside of that I've always liked him. We needed a tough guy and vet who's won.

Seeing bench as Bev, Beasley, Prince, Vando, and Reid with Nowell, Bolmoro, and Okogie getting some limited run unless another piece moved.

Rosas couldn’t get Clarke instead by throwing in some seconds?? Like he couldn’t get Nance in the Rubio trade? Clarke can’t even get off the bench for Memphis anymore.. Wolves bave a blackhole at PF
Rosas sucks at trades , he needs to stop.

Rosas is seriously obsessed with re-creating his own James Harden-less Houston Rocket team  . I'm still actually impressed he didn't give up a first for P.J Tucker.

Ok that said, this is a solid deal. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. Honestly though, seems like all his moves this off season are lateral or downgrades.

Rubio > Beverly
Juancho = Prince

We also ended up with a 2nd rounder plus TPE, and lost Culver (who still has potential @ only 21 years old). I wasn't expecting much anyways, but least these moves gives us a little flexibility going forward. Especially if Rosas is fired after this season, which I think this season will greatly determine.

We need some defensive grit in the worst way ... summer league has been an attempt to amp up the defense and the FO needs to sustain the importance going into the regular season where DLo and ANT need to raise their defensive efforts. Ya we need some help on the interior, but it always starts on-ball.

Regardless additional moves going forward, DLo, ANT, KAT gotta play winning basketball - together.
- McD has a big opportunity, but I hope Finch can manage his limits.
- I like Beverely/the gunslinger/Reid in the second unit.
- McL, Okogie, McD, Layman, Prince, and Vanderbilt need to focus on roles.
- PF need is still an issue ... maybe more KAT/Reid together at times in a 5-out (DLo/ANT/McD/Reid/KAT)
- Simmons still available and it's obvious Rosas keeps picking away at all options here...

I respectfully disagree with this assessment. On a different team, Rubio might have greater value, but not on the Wolves. The Wolves have a number of players who can create their own shots especially at the top of the pecking order. He’s not a strong on the ball defender, great team defender, but not at the point of attack. Beverly’s shooting, on ball defense and ability to finish at a higher rate in the paint, gives him the edge over Rubio on this team. If Juancho was more consistent shooting the three, and on defense I would give him the edge over Prince because he’s the better rebounder, but because Prince is the better defender in my opinion and because he shoots the corner three at such a high clip, edge goes to Prince based on team need. Beasley, Beverly and Prince have the potential of shooting 40%+ among the three of them. That’s going to create a lot space for our primary scorers.

Rubio will always be > that Pat Bev.

But, in the grand scheme of team building, he has been one player I’ve always thought would be more fitting on this team. It’s too bad it took almost 4 years to come to fruition. Bevs 3 and D capability and his overall tenacity will be very welcomed on this team.

Yeah, players like him are important in setting the tone, even if they don't do a massive amount.

In the finals, PJ Tucker, Jae Crowder and Bobby Portis brought a lot to their teams by just being tough, try-hard players who give 100% every second out there. I like him as a nice foil to Russell.

In theory Rubio is that kind of player as well, but he's a small bit too 'nice'. He doesn't have that edge or that hint of a nasty streak that you sometimes need.

I’m not so sure. Yes, Rosas would prefer Dame, but who wouldn’t?

If that’s not possible, what does the team need? The Sixers already have an expensive deal on Tobias Harris, and Embiid just signed an extension today for massive money. The team needs to maximize Embiid’s talents, so it looks to me like they need three point shooting to spread the floor. Preferably, they’d also add a playmaker for the crunch time. Beasley would be a big help, and either Beverley or DLo would also help a lot. Even if MIN sent out DLo, it would allow us at PG to play Simmons on offense, and Bev on defense.

As everyone knows, I am not a fan of bringing Simmons to MIN, either at the high trade price or the continued salary. But from a structural position, I think Beasley + 1st + either DLo/PBev isn’t a bad offer to improve the Sixers.
