No wonder Suggs didn't do well at his workout for Toronto. He's a horrible set shot shooter, which is mostly what they do in workouts.

He's in the 93rd percentile off the dribble, which is the hardest shot in basketball to guard.

Funny that they see Rozier at 20, and then label him as an "above-average starting point guard".
Well, by definition of above-average, shouldn´t he be at least at 14?!

Looking at that list it is clear that there are a lot of really good lead-guards in the NBA right now!

..

Sure there are. But still, by definition, an above-average starting point guard can´t be behind 19 other starting point guards.
That an average starting point guard, in this era, is better than an average SG or C, is another topic.

That list, even though I don't agree with much of it, is why it is such an uphill battle for Fultz to become a league average starter. Because whoever the 15th best point guard might be is a damn good player.

And I didn't even see Jamal Murray or SGA on that list, i feel like there are others missing too, ignoring the lead ball handlers that play forward.

there was no confirmation on that as far as i know, unless there was new information....either way i don't have any qualms with this shooting...off the dribble...set shooting....he showed at least in summer league that he can and has no issue shooting these shots....just got to make a few tweaks here and there and get his reps, he'll be fine....i don't think he'll ever be a knockdown shooter but i don't see why he can't live in that 36%-38% range

Did Suggs have a private workout for the Magic prior to the draft?

Chad Ford had Suggs 10th on players drafted between 2019-2021, that will have an impact this season. He could see him averaging 16/6/6 this season.

I think Zion was 1, Morant 2, and Ball 3.

I'm telling you Suggs could have a Dejounte Murray type of stat line early in his career. Murray 16/7/5 last year with 1.5 steals

Suggs looks to be an elite rebounder for the position. Some guards get a lot of rebounds just by staying back and getting the uncontested scraps, Suggs is inside fighting for them.

As for Chad Ford's rankings, 10th is pretty high for a rookie when being compared against 3rd year players.

I hope not.

2016-17: 3ppg/1apg/1rpg
2017-18: 8ppg/3apg/4rpg
2018-19: Did Not Play (injury—torn right anterior cruciate ligament)

But looking at his return year, there is hope for Fultz though:
2019-20: 11ppg/4apg/5rpg

Homer-ism aside, I see Suggs as way better than D. Murray (who is good) like, yesterday!

I predict immediate line of...28 mpg, 16ppg, 6rpg, 5apg, with notable steals and blocks for his position. Possible ROY if Jalen Green doesn't score an undeniable but useless 25ppg.

Suggs early career could resemble recent Murray.

Not sure if he even had Cade in his top 10. I know Green, KPJ, Barret, Edwards were ahead of Suggs too.

They both did go to Washington. Fultz is not the defensive wizard that Murray is, but he has the wingspan to be. The threes might be similar both in percentage and frequency. I still believe Fultz can become a top 15 PG. Murray might not be too far off of that already. So maybe that is a pretty good comp. I guess I thought Fultz could be a Da 'ron Fox type, maybe that's asking too much.

Jalen Suggs Orlando Magic T-shirt with his #4 on the back is now available at the Dick's sporting goods on East Colonial by the fashion square mall. I just got mine there today. I suggest everyone else follow suit as he will probably be our favorite player on the team now.

Suggs TRoss' podcast tomorrow. You can suggest questions to ask on TRoss' IG timeline.

I messaged Ross to ask him if the bass were bigger in Minnesota or Florida?

Last Guardian wrote:Didn't expect this but wow. Still a bit in shock. Got very lucky for first time in a long time it seems. I liked Barnes, certainly better than Kuminga, but have no idea what Toronto was thinking. They are done with Lowry pretty much and they don't take SUGGS?!?!

Congrats Magic fans.... A ton of the Raptor fanbase had the same issue as to why Masai and Bobby would pick Barnes over Suggs. But when u have a President who makes a promise to the fanbase and delivers a championship, we trust both those men at the top. Both Bobby and Masai stated they took the best talent available. I personally believe Suggs is a true star in the making. His numbers will be off the charts, but after listening to players who have played with Barnes, I am liking this kid more and more. As a Raptor fan myself, let's revisit who is the better player in year 4 or 5. At the end of it all, I see at least that the Magic actually have a player they can build around and Suggs will get all the opportunity to prove himself. Barnes will be coming off the bench for us, and if he picks up the defence quick in Nurses system, should be able to get 25-27 minutes every game.

Good luck with this season..

Jalen Suggs is now the favorite in Vegas to win the ROY. We have a stud and the experts know it. I’m so excited to whoop the Spurs!
