Will Kemba and Fournier add wins?
Its weird but a lot of people talk like the additions of Kemba and Evan will allow us to "just hold court " or "remain competitive" with the other playoff teams in the East. I think we filled huge holes and will take a big leap forward. I know other squads added pieces but still...

Re: Will Kemba and Fournier add wins?
It depends. With internal improvement, this team has more talent than last year's by a good margin but last year's team overachieved bigtime. If this year's team does the same they'll win more. Like the Rose Bulls.

Re: Will Kemba and Fournier add wins?
I'm thinking the Knicks win floor is right around 41 and their win ceiling is possibly 50 so for them to equal last season's win% they would have to get to about 46 or 47 without doing the math so it may be more in raw wins this season but about the same % considering it will be a normal length season this year.

I think this is the best way to look at it.
The Knicks are unquestionably a better team, but they might have a worse RS record, for a number of reasons.
We're more built for the playoffs now, when things really count.

after watching the 2014-15 Warriors team, why cant we be like them? BIg15 is like their strength in numbers slogan from that year. I really hope it comes together.

Re: Will Kemba and Fournier add wins?
I'm with Cap, think we overachieved last year. Also I'm assuming you mean win % versus total, as there are more games this year.
Why the answer would be yes: We clearly improved. Kemba and Fournier are the top reasons why.
Why the answer would be no: Other teams also improved, other teams were less fortunate with covid and injuries last year, the assumption that we indeed overachieved, and the health question marks in Mitch, Kemba, and probably Rose.
More no answers overall, but the single yes answer may even it out, as it appears we improved more than the average team. It's not just the players, it's also the fit. Better starting 5, and better depth if we need next man up to stay afloat.
Final answer: I see us right around the same win %, and more dangerous in the playoffs. 47-35 on the year.

Please unpack that for me. We seem to be one of the deepest teams in the league. I would think that should help our RS record.

I’m expecting 50.
I think what Kemba and Fournier (and our rooks) bring offensively makes our entire team more dynamic, efficient, and effective. My only minor concern is what they may give up defensively. But Thibs won’t tolerate a **** defense. I believe they’ll make it work.
The war machine we marveled at last season just leveled up.

Re: Will Kemba and Fournier add wins?
Depth wins u a lot of games in the regular season and we are the BIG 15. U add in internal development and Tom Thibodeau as coach = close to 50 wins IMO.
I also think this team is an underrated 3 point shooting team.
Last year:
Kemba Walker - 36% on 8.2 attempts over Elfrid Payton 28.6% on 1.6 attempts
Evan Fournier - 41.3% on 6.7 attempts
RJ Barrett - 40.1% on 4.3 attempts
Julius Randle - 41.1% on 5.5 attempts
Derrick Rose - 44.1% on 2.6 attempts
Immanuel Quickley - 38.9% on 4.7 attempts
Alec Burks - 41.5% on 5 attempts
Obi Toppin - 30.6% on 1.4 attempts (Obi needs to be better and he looks like he improved over the summer)

I see us winning at least 45-50 games this year
I also believe there is a great chance we make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Re: Will Kemba and Fournier add wins?
They'll make the team better.
Maybe the Knicks played over their head last year. Probably. East will probably be better.
Knicks would have won 41 games over 72. If they went .500 with 10 more games, that's already 46.
So, if the Knicks talent upgrade evens out the "over the head/east better", Knicks win 46.
I'm going with 46 -50 wins, with 48 being the probably result.

Thibs team's consistently play over their head. No reason to think they will suddenly not play as hard. Heck they might even play harder with those hungry rooks nipping at their tails and Mitch playing for his next contract, and less minutes to go around because of improve depth.
Now you have more talent to play over your head... should -= more wins
