Parker is like LaMarcus Aldridge: his best shot is the low percentage long two. And he has zero lateral mobility on defense. I believe his guarantee goes up to 1.1M if he is not waived by the first game of the season, and I expect that he will be waived unless he comes into camp a different player.

The only problem is if we waive Parker, we would need a 15th man, and they wouldn't come much cheaper than Parker.
I suppose we could go with 14 but that seems unlikely, when's the last time we did that?

It was like 3-4 years ago I think. We wouldn't per se need a 15th man but you're right in implying that it wouldn't make much sense. We could obviously cut Parker during the season with minimal impact if we saw an upgrade that we absolutely had to have. We could cut him during camp if some other team cuts a guy during camp that we think could help us better as well. Otherwise, we might as well keep the guy until we have a reason not to keep the guy.

1. Give Hauser a regular deal and put someone else into the 2-way slot. 2. Fill the other 2-way slot with a young power forward and give him plenty of practice minutes. 3. Sign a young player with some upside or a more experienced Euro for the vet min. 4 Make another 2 for 1 trade.

You can only suit up 13 for a game, right?

They changed it to 15 last Season. Probably due to COVID.
Not sure if they're going to keep it at that.

It depends on how much you are willing to pay for 5 minutes a game, especially when you have a young team. I mean, if you have to soak up some extra minutes I'm sure Brown and Tatum can play 34 an extra couple of minutes each. There will be trouble finding minutes for Nesmith and Langford as is.

What do you guys think of trading Ben Simmons for Paul George? George fits great in Philadelphia and is ready to win this year. Simmons would have a lot of shooting on the Clippers, and could steady the ship with Kawhi out.

I think it's an AWFUl trade for the Clippers and it kills their chances of winning a title. George is still a far far SUPERIOR baketball player to Simmons and he just proved it in the playoffs. Simmons is bizzarely overrated. He's stalled like 2 seasons ago and hasn't improved jack about his game. He's a role player on close to superstar money contract.
Good assessment:

i think he plays good for them and keep him. I would take him over bruno. he has upside, size, and buddies with Tatum.

It's not crazy. George is a better player obviously but he's also a lot older and on the downside. The Clips would have to rely on some improvement from Ben, but it's clear they're not winning a chip with the Kawhi/George pairing anyways, so it's time to take a chance. And Ben gets to play second fiddle, with Kawhi being the unquestioned alpha, which is how they both like it. Meanwhile the Sixers go all-in with George/Embiid, but it shortens their window.

They gotta be the oldest team in the NBA, by far?

Edit:
I got the Lakers at a combined average of about 32 years old.
They're like 6 years older than us, as a Team.

This answered a curiosity I had earlier about waive and stretch date.
