I don't think Curry is even close to top 2-3 ball-handlers in the league. His handles are nice, but not very tight and a lot of clips we've seen on highlight reels is caused by his shooting ability - not handles by itself.

Handles should be judged on how well you can get to spots you want to be in. Curry isn't ATG dribbler in traffic.

Yes. Major knock of Curry's offensive game is he is very turnover prone in traffic be it dribbling it off or making a poor pass off from a double team. He is still very good dribbler no doubt but his finishing ability far excels importance of dribbling ability in generally...

No, Curry's not particularly turnover prone. He averages 3 turnovers per game which is right in line with what most other star primary ballhandlers average. It's less than Lebron and a lot less than Harden and Westbrook and those guys haven't been labelled as turnover prone.

I'm surprised rebounding wasn't the first thing mentioned after shooting. Steph has good handles, but there are better ballhandlers who are less prone to turnovers. Few point guards rebound like him though.

I think his ability to move without the ball is 2nd best ability after shooting of course. His ball handling is a close 3rd. I remember the likes of Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, and Rip Hamilton but Steph is the best moving without the ball. It's a thing of beauty

And while he's not the goat ball handler (that title goes to Kyrie), one could argue he's a top 5 ball handler of all time if not higher

You know he only averaged one more rebound than Dame right?

Finishing around the rim.

I see JN is back to crying about Curry, as per usual. Got to love how pathetic a man can get when a player destroys your entire team and organization in a very short amount of time.

While I haven't looked into this he has a point. Curry's TRB% is 8.5 and Lillard is at 6.3. Curry also has higher % than Murray. For his size Curry is good at hunting down rebounds by all accounts

ELITE:

Handle
Finishing ability at the rim with either hand in traffic
Off-ball chaos creator
Teammate/tone setter
Vision/unique playmaking
Motor

If you had to pick a number two it’s the chaos he creates combining his motor and off ball movement (and the fact that he’s willing/able to do that as a superstar who is running the offense when not in this mode).

I agree with those saying his handles. He is really underrated in that regard and I have seen him pull off some incredibly filthy moves. After that it's probably his ability to move without the ball

as much as i trash pandemic p, he is a better player bc he is two way and dpoy level defender. curry is not on kd, lebron's level hes an inferior offensive player despite being a foot smaller.
curry needs to be goat offensively 35ppg every game to make up for his defense he is just an open bucket for opponents trying to pick on him every single possession.

the only reason curry gets a free pass is his midget size allows him to suck at D if he was okafor's size he wouldnt play over 30minutes like korver. okafor is such a waste he had goat postup moves would have been perennial all star if born 20 yrs earlier.

Your whole post is about Curry sucking on defense yet the argument is about Steph being a GOAT offensive player.

Steph dropped 30 points on 50/40/90. Nobody in NBA history has done that and had a top tier team ORtg. I think he is the GOAT offensive player because all the other players(PG, KD, LeBron, whomever) you need to talk about their defense to make them seem better as a player.

His trash talking is up there. It smells like champagne here.

Also his gravitational pull is immense, he brings all the haters in realgm. Is that a basketball ability.

He also always has a place to stay because he lives rent free in some poster’s heads.

Agree with the poster who mentioned finishing. Steph is pretty consistently among the best finishers for guards in the league, his touch & ability to put english on the ball to finish tough layups is pretty great.

Relative to size and athleticism (allow me to bold that before people lose their minds), it strikes me that he might be one of the very best finishers at the rim ever.

Ahhh, it was time that he was mentioned in an effort to deflect.

AD was traded to the Lakers and he wanted to be traded. Steph begging KD and then KD basically taking the keys from him is a lot worse.

Lol crying after losing the Finals MVP when your team is winning. He's the definition of Beta couldn't get it done without KD and cries when KD steals the FMVP from him.

Off-ball movement. It's the reason, along with his shooting, why he causes so much chaos for the defense.
