He's tiny but he's got such great balance and body control, and extremely quick hands. He's a pest. Offensively he's a really good ball handler, creates space for his shot easily, not as great a shooter as you'd hope yet, but takes a lot of high difficulty shots. Offensively, he's stylistically a lot like Kyrie but obviously not nearly as good. A great get for the Herd, and a roster spot's not out of the question if he progresses.

Yeah, he's good, but he's not switchable defensively, which makes his fit tough in today's NBA. I like that he's feisty defensively, but it's tough to picture him in a playoff defense.

Could he be out there for say five minutes in the playoffs and not be a complete net negative? Teague got playoff minutes just for being able to dribble a ball and the team instantly tanked, so it’s a pretty low bar for the break glass in case of emergency point guard spot.

Didn’t Bryant even get a few non-garbage time playoff minutes to get Jrue a rest or due to foul trouble.

It really depends on what kind of team you play. Some teams like to run some action to get the matchup they want e.g. the Suns in the finals. Pat was barely good enough on his initial matchup and on switches so I don't think he could play in that series. But if he can guard his man versus teams that don't, maybe.
Personally I'm very, very low on small guards and he's tiny. No personal opinion on him though.

On the face of it Waters seems like he did enough with the Celtics where he'd have respectable G-league offers at least.

If so the Bucks might be giving him the opportunity to fight for our second Two-Way in training camp with a backup plan that he could play for the Herd if he wants to:

Waters spent the first two seasons of his NBA career on Two-Way contracts with the Boston Celtics. Waters played in 37 total NBA games (four starts) in 2019-20 and 2020-21. In the NBA, Waters averaged 3.8 points and 2.1 assists per game.

With the then Maine Red Claws (now Maine Celtics), Waters won G-League Rookie of the Year in 2019-20. He averaged 18 points, 7.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game.

Waters is a good pickup as long as you factor in that you can't expect much from a player who hadn't been signed by now. He's a real pest on defense, and he can pile up the assists. He's going to have to impress as a 3 point shooter to make the team.

I think it's time to sell high on Giannis. I bet we could get Unibrow and Russell Westbrook for him. We might not even need to add draft picks. Might need to throw in Midds to make the salaries work.
