If they played today's soft NBA rules then yes. If they played 80's rules then Lebron would be crying after the first quarter.

This defense would make him cry? Man, i wanna see what you guys are talking about but every time i watch a game from the 80's or full highlights from one, the defense looks like chit. Same as today but with much worse athletes. Lebron would destroy this garbage

Nah one of this would happen

Then this would happen

The idea that leBron is not even the best SF in the history of the game, let alone the GOAT overall, is having some fan groups in shambles. Just to compare the physicality back then with the collection of whining and flopping that will remain the gold standard of LeBron era (y'all remember the "LeBroning" meme?) shows the absurdity of this discussion. Just because the guy is huge doesnt mean he has the toughness to survive and earn respect. When it comes to toughness, guts, willingness to brawl theres probably 200 players we could think of before LeBron. I dont remember him standing up for himself or a team mate once against anyone other than tiny point guards in all of his career. Feel free to provide videos proving me wrong. I'll pick Iverson, Kobe, MJ, Bird 10/10 times over Bron.

Youtube video with dirty play- the best way to prove that old school defense was something special  Like always. Unfortunately, when you watch a full game from that era, you see a lot of plumbers playing really awful defense.

60% of the players today can’t even make a mid range jumper… and 85% of the league couldn’t guard a fence. If you mean players are more athletic, sure but skilled, just no.

THats just a gen y take. His generation has to be the best, because. Especially talking about LeBron who could not even dribble without travelling to an extent that the league had to change the rules to accomodate to his deficiencies, and to think he hasnt developed a shot or footwork - his whole game in his early years was bullying his way to the basket under protection of the refs - and then to claim the above is almost as bad as Mikal Bridges' original take.

It's not hyperbole when it's about MJ those are facts. Don't use false equivalency here.

Just another example that basketball players (or any professional athlete for that matter) are not known for their brains.

I wasnt trying to prove that old school defense was special...

I was making fun of you talking like lebron is some monster who doesnt flop and lie on the floor and then complain that they were to physical with him.

You should really go and look up the meaning of the word ‘fact’ before posting next time.

If Lebrons playing 3 or 4 games and taking a lot of shots I could see him putting up around 90 points for the series

That's a fair way to look at it, averaging anywhere from 22.5 pts to 30 pts is what to expect, so yes, 90 points over 3-4 games would be about what to expect. Only if that is what Bridges was saying, right? Haha

This forum would be 10x improved if certain blatant posters could be tagged with a big 'PERSONAL AGENDA' banner above each of their posts. This thread seems to have attracted them like moths to the flame.

But to go to the extreme like that just makes him look disrespectful and under-informed, to put it nicely.

You have former players saying MJ would average 50 in his sleep in todays league. That **** is just as disrespectful.

Everybody agrees rule changes have led to increased numbers these days though.

So that statement, imho, is just indicative of that actuality.

I was with ya till you get to Kobe/AI.

People talk about how big James is, and he is built but from a frame perspective Bird is bigger.

You dont think AI, Kobe were tougher? I mean, haven't you seen Bron roll over the floor countless times when he was barely touched? Have you seen Kobe play with broken bones, take free throws with a torn achilles? Have you looked at AI's injury history, and how he still went into the paint without any fear? Do you realize what it takes to go in there against massive human beings when he was barely 6ft?

Sorry man but bron is soft as jelly for all i know. I just see him bully small point guards like the jet. Havent seen him man up with people like Metta, Barnes and the like. When ever i see guys talk about how "dangerous" he is i gotta laugh. He was literally scared of patrick Beverley. In a brawl its not about size. Its about heart. Bron wouldnt have survived in the 80's, 90's.
