3 straight 1st overall picks vs 3 straight Finals losses

Post#1 » by SUPERVILLAIN » Wed Sep 15, 2021 3:21 am

Simple question. Which would you rather have happen to your favorite team?

Win 3 straight 1st overall pick or lose 3 straight Finals?

This poll illustrates the difference between Realgm and actual GMs.

That's actually pretty tough.
Making even one Finals is pretty damn hard. No guarantee at all even that happens w 3 #1 picks.
I think I'd take the picks though. Betting on myself to build at least one finals team, and at least have a chance to win it when you get there.
That's ultimately what you play for.

After 3 straight finals losses, your team is likely breaking up and heading towards a rebuild

3 straight #1 picks means your team is building for success moving forward.

Easy pick

I'll take 3 straight finals losses. The team's still likely not going to even get to the finals with those number one picks.

Games arent won on papers. Three first overall picks doesn't guarantee you anything lol

Three finals appearances means your team had the opportunity to win it all. Seeing as how so many NBA teams haven't even been to a Finals I'd say that experience would be well worth it

So something like 11-14 vs 15-18 Cavs. I’ll take the latter.

3 straight finals losses represents futility

Would you feel different if the Cavs didn't win in 2016?

Doesn't get any better than this to show everyone exactly what the answer is.
