@Mitch_Lawrence: The Rockets have been fielding offers for John Wall, including from the Clippers, Heat and Pistons, per sources. After taking a major PR hit for the James Harden trade, the Rockets aren’t rushing into any deal. One Houston exec: “We have to win this trade.’’

Could John Wall play the Bruce Brown role when Kawhi gets back?

Wall for Kennard + Bledsoe + Ibaka works in the trade machine. Maybe some 2nd rounders going to Houston. The Rockets save a little bit of money next year, and could probably flip Kennard for something.

I'd trade Kennard for Coby and filler.

I probably wouldn't because I've never really been a Kennard fan.
Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.

Not a fan of the Gordon deal at all. Hope that doesn’t cost them MPJ.

It's not a terrible deal. That's roughly what a starter who isn't quite a star makes these days. If push came to shove, it would be a relatively easy deal to move.
Why so serious?

I feel MPJ will ask for a max. 19 & 7 in just his 2nd year with 44% 3P shooting, 66% TS.
If they don't intend on him paying max, I'd probably trade him before rumors come out. But they can't afford to lose him.
But I don't see why a rookie would take a pay cut at this point in his career.
Still can't believe we picked Wendell, when MPJ wanted to be picked by Chicago. Dead horse beaten.

Likely not but Kyrie is a very odd duck and if I was a GM I might be hesitant to trade for him because of that and many other interesting personality reasons. His threat has more gravity than some other players threatening that,

I hope he stays healthy and gets it going, there was so much hype around him. Reminds me of the Shaun Livingston situation.

I’m just happy the Rockets aren’t wasting time by starting Wall. Let KPJ and Green be the backcourt from day 1 and see what you got. The Rockets have their own pick in 22, so no pressure.

KPJ / Green / Tate / Wood / Theis sure looks fun to me.

An interesting debate. Would we rather have Hali now? It depends on what our alternatives were instead of Ball and DDR, IMO.

A lot is going to depend on how Pat progresses this season. If he takes a step forward above last season - improved defense in particular (where he started pretty well and then faded) - along with incremental improvements across the board (though not necessarily re volume of scoring given the changed roster)... well, I'm not sure that you take Hali over Williams (especially where they were interested in Ball last season, suggesting a plan re the PG spot).

That sounds like every cap nerds dream.

Though we seem pretty set in the backcourt, his new $5M cap figure would fit perfectly into our $5.1M TPE (Theis trade) and he’s another 6’7” switchable wing.

I think Exum could be an option later on in the season in case we had someone go down with an injury.
We are missing a lot of layups right now as a team, and that is on me... It’s my job to make sure we’re ready to make our layups." - Thibodeau.

Listening to Marc Stein & Chad Ford on Fords podcast on NBA power rankings. Stein has them at #15 and Ford at #20, Ford said they have positioned themselves to be a "perennial 8 to 10 seed" .... -____-

I hope these jerseys are real. I don’t even like the White Sox but man do those look great.
