The change suggests to me one of 3 things:
FIRST possibility - Rosas was going to make a trade that the ownership refused to sanction
SECOND possibility - Ownership wanted to make a trade that Rosas rejected
THIRD possibility - Lore/A-Rod are cleaning house much earlier than I expected.

I came to MN from East Coast in 1990. On my recruiting visit here, I watched the Wolves in the Dome, and adopted the team as my own, and moved here. I've been here 31 years. I've suffered with this franchise as you each have done. This decision feels unnecessary at this point, but I don't know enough yet to judge. I'm still angry.

I'm a firm believer in hiring someone, letting them do their job with support and evaluating the results once it's done. That doesn't mean un-supervised unlimited discretion, but it means I want to get out of the way and let that person do their job. While the record is 42-94 since he was hired, I have a hard time dismissing him until this coming season is over. Evaluating someone after their first season - where they are developing an understanding of the team; a second Covid-interrupted season, where your best player gets ill, and has a parent die from a pandemic-based event before the third season and then a third season where your main players were barely on the court together, feels rash. And this is exacerbated by the apparent fact (I've not seen confirmation that it was required that he hold on to Saunders) that he didn't get to pick his own coach when he first came on the job.

I agree that ownership is ownership. It's their toy. And if they felt that a trade GR proposed was harmful to the franchise, it's within their authority to decline it - and fire GR. But ownership better do a damm good job of controlling subsequent narrative if they did that. Because otherwise, it's going to get really hostile to the team, And if GR refused to do a deal that ownership wanted, I'll side with GR given the past decisons by ownership on players ....

I would guess it's either your first possibility or something not basketball related.

I think you are likely right #1 or "non basketball" - but I have nothing specific to point at for "non-basketball" (like many of the writers), so I left it out (like many of the writers). Good clarifying point by you.

I wonder what this is about.

Hope the new guy doesn't come in with a desire to get his "coach", that's my biggest potential issue with all this, because I liked how we played under Finch.

Otherwise, I didn't like Rosas from what I had to chance to see him say and do, so I'm fine with him gone.

Maybe true. But at what price? Rosas could have stalemated Morey. Ownership said: take 2. Morey work with _________.

Whatever he built was going nowhere.
Roster got worse in the offseason once again.

Lets see if the organization will make the right decision now for once with a new guy.

Hope we can say the same for Edwards.

If anything I would think the chances of Simmons coming over are far less now.

Well we will agree to disagree.

Cavs let Griff go, then Kyrie was traded.

Morey left the Rockets, then Harden was traded.

Demps was fired by the Pels, then AD was traded.

Ainge left the Celtics then a flurry of trades happened.

Add in Rosas could have been to close to Morey for a “fair” deal to be conducted between them.

Add in Arod ownership wants to brand this team (sadly could actually mean Elton Brand) and make a splash (see Simmons trade).

I would say NBA history and the math make it seem much more likely Simmons is traded North.

I have never in my life agreed to disagree. What's the point of doing that. We can disagree with no agreement to do it in place.

Wasn't Rosas the first Latin American PoBO? Are we trying to win diversity points? That said I prefer Gupta to Brand easily.

Jonny K said something big happened and the straw broke the camels back

Can’t go on record right now. Lots of drama in the front office.
