the injury has to happen on Sixers grounds, no? Like if its offsite couldn't that cost him more money?

Bad look for Klutch. Nice to see Daryl and Nerlens disrupting Rich Paul's world a little bit.

This makes much more sense. Imagine his plan is to just get his next team to pay him. Doubt he actually wants to deal with the circus of showing up.

All of this to me makes it sound like it’s going to be over sooner rather than later, his new team will pay him and everything will be fine.

Nicknames:

Joel Embiid - The Process

Ben Simmons - The Asset

That is really what we have reached, Simmons is not a part of this team except as a trade asset. I don't hate him, I don't wish Simmons poorly, I used to really like him and was a fan of his, but I have lost most of my respect for him.

We have guys in camp busting their humps, some just to earn a spot or minutes and all to get better as a player and as a team. Those are the Sixers, those are the players and guys I care about. Ben is gone, the only thing to be determined is when, where and for whom/what? And in that, Morey I trust.

Obviously you haven't spent much time outside digging a good hole.

Simmons for White+Murray
Simmons for DLo+McDaniels+FRP
Simmons for Brogdon+LeVert

Yeah, and Ben can still earn all of his money by playing all of the games, minus any fines. It’s just a prepayment, so he still has potential to earn that money.

And the choice is none of the above. Add a pick or two to the spurs deal, another pick to the Minny deal and someone without a major injury history to the Pacers deal.

They are all in the high end role player deal mode and I would rate them with the Minny deal last and the other two about even. DLo stinks of Simmons cooties and his own issues.

Escrow account is less fun than leaving stacks of bills in a conference room at the practice facility

Yeah I have it as
1. White+Murray
2. Brogdon+LeVert
3. DLo+McDaniels

I think if first two were offered then a deal would be struck soon, not sure if DLo offer gets done until a last resort

With all due respect, I don't think Morey would sniff any of those deals. We are in a position to contend for a title with Embiid. None of those packages get us there, unfortunately. I do think from a fan and outsider perspective, there is a case to be made for packages like these. However, I think offers like this or better (i.e. CJ + Cov + multiple picks) have been made and Morey hasn't accepted them.

Dame, Beal, Edwards, Kyrie...someone who can be a 1B to Joel's 1A. That's how Morey has traditionally built his teams, and I think that's how he will continue to do so. The fact that Ben has 4 more years on his deal makes it easier for him to hold onto him for the right deal.
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Barlow/Watford/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

Wow, this has really turned into a mess in a way that could only happen in Philly. The Sixers are the messiest franchise seemingly every single year.

The drama of him showing up now and faking an injury would be soooo bad for team chemistry. Can’t wait to see how many times Doc manages to shoot himself in the foot until this trade happens lol.

I'm still thinking Minn is going to give all the picks and swaps for the foreseeable future to a third team looking to rebuild to get Simmons. That makes the most sense, but no team has a disgruntled star, so we're currently staying course.
