at least it's been a great season for the mets big 4 hitting prospects

vientos is in triple h and hit his 23d hr last night -- i kid you not all his homeruns have been right center, kid has legit pop -- slugging .600, could either help in lf or dh.

mauricio got promoted to double, poor average aside it's his first season where the homerun has come into play -- anytime a 20 year old hits 19 homeruns, you take notice

baty is in double, hasn't played in weekd because of covid hitting the rumble ponies but he's had a great first full season

alvarez, the prize jewel -- 19 years old and has 23 homeruns in less than 100 games played.

not a single homerun pulled to left.

i hate player comparisons but that swing/follow through is a-rod.

Season is over. Villar got injured in tonight's game. I wonder if they bring up Vientos or whether they just go with JD, Luis, and McNeil at 3B.

tough to tell who the replacement might be until we hire a POBO.

Ultimately it will be his/her decision.

Well yeah, of course. Who else would it be? BNO?

Anyone on the list intrigue you? Wouldn’t it be funny if we gave it to Beltran again and he took us to the WS?

I have a soft spot for beltran because he knows the game so well and probably would get the most out of Lindor.

but the Beane and Bob Melvin combo (POBO and Coach) would be pretty legit. But I think we would have to compensate OAK for them.

Good call, that would be a great combo and yes, we’d have to trade for Melvin.

Mets to offer QOs to Noah and Conforto. Noah expected to accept Forto to eject.

The fallout reminds me when Omar ran the Mets and small but loud portion of the fan base went all "the Mets have to many Latino players" when the Delgado's and the Reyes' of the world were a big part of the success.

Baez / Lindor etc were misguided in their gesture but they are young and still evolving. People make mistakes.

But you know what I like about Baez? He was sticking up for his teammate who keeps being kicked while he is down. They tried to foster an “us against the world” mentality to give themselves some inspiration, some motivation. It was fine, just don’t divulge the meaning publicly.

But I like Baez. He plays off emotion. You know, the same emotions that “baseball purists and traditionalists” despise. You know, the kind of emotions that those of that ilk tend to claim disrespects the game.

The rush to turn on Lindor / Baez is as much a cultural thing as it is a performance issue.

Look at the Mets when they had Beltran/Wright. People talk about a divided clubhouse or quiet personalities, but you need guys who are willing to put themselves out there in a 162 game season and lead the team. Wright and Beltran were good boys and never did that.

Lindor/Baez imo you need guys like that on winning teams over the course of a 162 game season because they are straight up leaders who will lay themsleves in front of the media and fans and players for the betterment of the rest of the team. Someones gotta take the bullets sometimes and Wright/Beltran never were willing to do that imo and it fed into the team not having a real identity,

he has long arms so if you look closely you can see that he covers the outside of the plate well.

Love the idea that El Mago might re-sign quickly. He’s a great fit for this team. Baty POtW in the Arizona Fall League as well.

I wonder what this means for McNeil and JD? I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of turnover in this team's roster this off season.
