Re: Pre-Season Games
Westbrook had too many turnovers. He passed the ball too casually, recklessly and carelessly. Take care of the damn ball even in the preseason !!!
DJ was literally a liability on both ends of the floor. Just don't know why we sign him from the very beginning. What is the use of the center if he cannot rebound, protect the paint and score, inside and outside the paint.
Other than Bazemore, our guards are all liabilities on defense. Blown by the opposing guards every game. IF their 3s do not fall, they are worse than KCP and Kuz who you all think useless on offense. At least give me something, some points or some defense !!
Some problems can be solved with more playing time together.

Westbrook is washed. His numbers from last season were completely overrated. He put up big numbers on a bad Wizards team.
What a terrible preseason overall. Everything looks off.

It’s a brand new team. In Vogel’s defense I trust.
Since the 1976 merger LAL 11, CHI 6, BOS 6, SAS 5, GSW 4
PG: Luka / Vincent / Smith
SG: Reaves / Knecht / Bronny
SF: Smart / LaRavia / Thiero
PF: Bron / Rui / Vando / Kleber
C: Ayton / Hayes / Koloko

I mean you do need the players in order to have the number one defense. We traded defensive players for offensive ones. This team isn't going to be a top 10 defense but if we can tread around 10-15 I'd take that with the personnel we have.

Yeah, we’ll have to wait and see. Last season we were the best defensive team in the league. I think we can be a top 3-5 defensive team even without Caruso and Kuzma.

Offense usually takes longer to mesh than defense, but that may not be the case here. The way things look, it will take two months, to late December, before this team learns how to play together efficiently, smoothly at both ends. Before then, it will come in fits and starts.

I pray to God that you are right. A couple of years ago, Rob hired shooters like Cook and Daniels, Vogel didn't play them bec they were bad defenders.
*Pelinka also brought in Waiters and Smith, both barely played.
*They also picked up Ben Mcclemore after getting bought out, also barely played.
*(Rob also acquired Harrell, he played like 20+ mins in spite of having very good offensive numbers.
* Marc Gasol also got benched bec he gets exposed when he had to switch in the perimeter. Vogel is locked in defensively and hate players who are not good defenders but offense suffers too.
Pelinka now is challenging Frank to REALLY COACH defense by trading KCP, KUZ, and not retaining Caruso and letting go of Matthews.
Vogel is down to ONE defensive minded player in Bazemore and after 4 games, they have allowed at least 117 pts/game, 3 games more than 121 points.

Re: Pre-Season Games
I didn't expect us to win all our preseason games... In fact that would have concerned me more than where we are now...
But I expected at least one game where we looked really good... And not against the damned GSW... A team we have been beating in our sleep for the last few years...
With the injuries and our overall performance, especially on the Defensive end... And based on how I went through the first 3 months of the season last year not worried... I'm already losing interest. Call me when they put together an 8 of 10 run.

I hope you’re wrong, lol.
Moving AD to the five must in part be to cover for Westbrook’s lack of team defense, and due to the lack of Caruso and Kuzma.

I knew getting Rondo back will speed up AD.

LeBron looks about the same as last year. A bit stiff but can pull off a decent move all of a sudden. He should be fine.

I like the defensive focus of Reaves and Queen. Both are playing with poise on both ends.

If you can't even beat this version of the warriors things are not looking good.

I’ve always thought of Westbrook as a SG who covers up for his poor shooting by pretending he’s a PG…
It’s a good regular season plan, let Rajon set it up, spread the floor with AD and LBJ, let RW and Bazemore cut. Send AD the lob pass every third possession.

Re: Pre-Season Games
I like this Reeves guy. You can see he has confidence in his abilities on offense. Something Caruso sorely lacked. Will enjoy watching his progress this season. Will Miss AC like hell though and Hope Austin can somewhat make up most of it.
Raul
“The other day I saw one of his games. He was running with the ball at a hundred per cent full speed, I don’t know how many touches he took, maybe five or six, but the ball was glued to his foot. It’s practically impossible.”
