It was a thing of beauty watching Curry jump up and move into the defender jumping up trying to block the shot and they called it an offensive foul.Tim Kempton wrote:I want to say "It's about time!" but the refs will likely revert to their old ways at some point. It's like when the NBA introduced fines for flopping. It lasted about four days and then after that, the fines became a rarity.
I think it will stick longer, first off flopping is harder to identify and fines are a bigger deal, this is a change to make the game way better. We saw the continuation rules adjusted and they are still being enforced by the new rules. I also think the flopping thing is a bit overblown outside of a few players it rarely happens.
**** they also modified the old rip through move and made it a foul on the floor no matter what.

No its not. Half his playstyle is based on foulbaiting. He's still a good to great player, but he will be lesser of a player than he would of been had they not cracked down on foulbaiting.

Again, this is false and now pretty dismissive. Guy's ppg went down when he started the foul stuff.

Fines are different than actual calls on the floor though. There are plenty of rules that have changed the way players have played that have held up. Rip through. Grabbing the ball after the basket.
All we can do is express that we're happy it's currently being called the way it is and hope that it stays that way. It's a much more watchable product without that and players will stop doing it if it's not getting called.

There are still a few superstars who get the rip through call and shoot free throws on it.

Says the guy who's only case so far has been "this is false".
Woj specifically mentions Trae Young in the reporting of a meeting that took place during the playoffs where Trae Young continually hunted for fouls, baited refs, and flopped.
I'd love to hear more about your "strong case".

This is really a dumb argument. But his case has been that Trae will still be effective even if he doesn't get those calls. His case was never that Trae didn't get them last year. I mean we all know Trae got them last year.
This isn't the gotcha you think it is. Now this appears to just be some childish Knicks/Hawks drama so I apologize if that's all this is and I'm bringing facts and reasoning into what is meant to be petty.Just let me know and I'll bow back out.
But if this is serious, you don't have anything here.
