I'm no expert but if Ben is going the injured route and he is found to be faking it, he is risking the loss of wages and further damage to his repetition. This would be basically fraud. Morey, Doc and the 76ers owner had to be aware that this would be one of the few remaining strategies that Simmons would attempt correct? So they should be ready for it. If this is the route he is taking Simmons is risking a whole lot just to be a brat.
You want it to be one way....but it's the other way. (Marlo)

Daryl Morey just went on the radio and said buckle up, it could be a long ride. He also said he’d take all four years if need be to resolve this. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in the Simmons camp when they heard that just now.

He could've had McCollum or Brogdon and Levert months ago. Didn't happen purely because of his massive ego.

He's not doing what's best for the team, he's doing what's best for him. As is Simmons. They're two peas in a pod, just on opposing sides of the aisle.

Now he's willing to let this saga continue for 4 years just because he refuses to take the L. Tillman Fertitta is smiling right now knowing he no longer has to deal with this guy.

I wonder if Morey knows that the league is on his side or that doesn't come into play.

If his mental health is in question, I’d have him attending regular sessions with the Sixers’ sports psychologist to get to the root of the problem. I suspect it is as simple as the fact that he has never been this publicly humiliated in his entire life. I don’t think he’s experienced a lot of adversity, and based on the documentary he made in college, I got some interesting vibes from the family members. The sister was pissed that other siblings were hired to work with Klutch, etc. At one point in the documentary, his father breaks down into tears in a way that seemed more sad/remorseful than anything. Just struck me odd from the minute I saw it several years ago.

Bottom line is all Ben Simmons has to do is take his medicine and move on. But I’m convinced that he’s just going to keep digging in. His ego absolutely will not allow him to cave in this matter.

And on the other end of the table is Daryl Morey. LOL

Simmons is the last chip we have.

Why would you just made your last trade for CJ or a package of Brogodn and Levert? it doesn't make sense. Let see what's the real best offer we can get before doing anything.

I don't get why you're so mad, you don't even watch games

If not, can you explain the difference?

It depends on what he's claiming he's experiencing. "Mentally not ready to play" doesn't necessarily equate to "mental illness" per se. Then again he could be experiencing a mental illness. We would need more information to determine that either way.

"Mentally not ready to play" without an actual mental illness is for someone who's not expecting to get paid. I can say with a great amount of confidence that Ben Simmons still wants/expects to be paid.
Gotcha. That seems like pretty good reasoning.

Who gives a **** about “L. Tillman Fertitta”? But you do you.

Edit - I’ll own the error of adding “L.” But the point stands. Who cares about what Tillman Fertitta thinks/feels?

Someone make a meme of the NBA trying to figure out which button to press (Daryl Morey on Ben Simmons, and Daryl Morey on Hong Kong).

Agree with not getting a star. Even a perfectly health and happy star never gets fair value back in a trade. It just never happens.

FireMorey wrote:Morey said he's not trading him unless he gets a star. Then he's never getting traded, because they will never get a star.

All this is, is a butt hurt guy who knows he F'd up not getting Harden, and is stubbornly refusing to accept less, because it would be damaging to his ego knowing he did miss out on Harden to accept less.

Good luck, dude! He's still going to be a Sixer in October 2022 then, because no one's going to want the guy and no one's going to trade a star for him. Only then he'll just be another year older, another year where he either didn't shoot or didn't even play, and even less valuable.

Josh Harris needs to step up and get both of these clowns out of here. Bring in a GM who isn't a has-been who will trade Ben Simmons and wash their hands of this disastrous Morey experiment. Dude's biggest acquisition was Seth ****ing Curry, give me a break. He tweets at stars more than he gets them. Maybe if you stepped up and got one when you had the chance, you wouldn't be in this mess.

I don't get angry about sports.

What if the last best offer is worse than the one you could have gotten? Waiting is all well and good, but it's only smart if logic says his value will rise over time. The most likely scenario was his value will depreciate. He should've seen it, but he was blinded by trying to get the W instead of cashing out before the stock plummets to zero.
