I’d tell you to go kick rocks if you think that Mobley had no idea about basketball to save us both the time.

Someone is a little worked up tonight. It must suck to be so emotionally invested like this. But I do appreciate your enthusiasm and commitment.

It must suck to cower up when someone calls out the bs .

Anyway Mobley is great and knows how to play basketball

If he can figure out how to finish through contact, or avoid it with craft, during the season he might hit 20 ppg. Rn he's just dying when there's contact because he's so skinny and hasn't adjusted his approach yet.

The only thing about Green is that I dont like his body....He doesnt seem strong or long

His body overall strengh/length seems noticeably worse than
Kobe
Lavine
Beal
Mitchell
Anthony edwards
Demar
ect

He's more like jamal murray

He's 19 so ofc he's weaker than most of those dudes who were all pretty skinny coming in besides Ant and Mitchell. But he's a legit 6'6 with a plus wingspan. Considerably longer than half of that list and especially Murray

I don’t mean to sound like a hater, but there’s no chance Green is a “legit 6’6.” So 6’7 in shoes? The same height as Kawhi Leonard?

I would guess around 6’4 barefoot for Green at most. Fortunately for him he has nuclear athleticism that helps compensate.

Green doesn’t move normally on the court amongst NBA players. He really stands out. Special guy.

i think somewhere between. much worse than lavine, edwards. the 2 inch shorter was the root cause.

thats probably why rockets chose green over mobley because he was 6'6 which is most ideal height in todays nba. hope they actually measured the kids height before drafting. same with cade. would detroit really draft a 6'6 cade who was supposed to be the pf?

green looks 6'4 to me. it could be because he's so damn skinny. but even if that were the case, 6'4 (6'5 in shoes) is good SG height in any era. kobe and MJ were both a shade under 6'5 barefoot too.

also josh giddey - wow. there were a few moments it looked like he was toying with All-D team members danny green and embiid at the same time. he didn't panic at all with embiid shading him. he's also definitely quicker than i thought.

Murray was bulky 200+ pounds in College, beefy SOB. He was like a more clinical version of Edwards (less pop/more skill).

Am I surprised that Green struggled first few games? Nope. Am I surprised he dropped 30 early on? Nope. Will he drop 40 this year, probably. It’s the overall game and physique that dropped him out of tier 1 for me (Mobley is the stand alone now).

Lol, he's playing 19 mpg.

He's at 15.5 pts 9 reb 4.5 ast 4.5 spg and 1.9 blks per 36

His stats are definitely eye popping, and I might get quoted or ridiculed, but he's gonna give Mobley a run for his money for the best big in the draft.

Mobley will have the edge because of the things that doesn't necessarily show up in the boxscore(defense), but the kid just has a knack of stuffing the boxscore sheet and that's what really matters in the eyes of the most.

They are starting him at SF for crying out loud and his defense is already pretty damn good. I saw him blow up the Hawks play 4 times on one possession, was every where. He swallowed up John Collins all night. His ball handling, knack for the ball around the basket, good passer, tough play inside, ability to stay with smaller players on the perimeter and a nice stroke. He’s got everything you would want an elite big to have.

I said at the draft I would have taken him number one and to me he clearly has the highest ceiling of everyone in this draft. He’s going to be a bitch to deal with the next 15 years.

This whole post shows you haven't watched Mobley at all.

Stick to highlights.

Post the Suggs highlights . In all seriousness though Franz has been pretty good and Id argue better than Suggs surprisingly. Although Suggs has a steeper development curve running an offense compared to camping in the corner.

Giddey has a sneaky first step and knows when to go and when to slow down (ultra important on both skills). Can lull you into it too. Finishing will be comfortable this year it’s the 3ball and shot that has the potential to come along in due time.

I tell you what though today if he had a more exp team those whip passes would have opened us right up. Great kid, great talent.

I really don't understand how people can still misjudge athleticism so badly. It's not about straight pace from a to b. It's all about functional athleticsm. Guys like Wiggins can jump and run out of the gym. But if they are stiff as hell, can't change directions and speed and are just straight lane drivers, all that pure athleticsm will go to waste on the Basketball court.
Whereas guys like Doncic, Trae Young or Giddey will lose in a 100m dash to Wiggins 10 out of 10 times, their athleticsm is way more suited for the game of Basketball. When you can change directions, speed, when you can control the pace, can slow down and speed up when it's neccessary, can use your body to shield the defender, when you know how to use the angles, when you have that shiftiness than you are much more effective on the Basketball court than someone who is just a gym athlete.
And it was obvious that Giddey or Luka for example have that kind of athleticism. But people still judge prospects based on their combine numbers. Remember, Plumlee had better athletic stats than Dwight.

Sengun just knows how to play. He is also better defensively than people gave him credit for. Yeah, he won't be good defending in space but he is good enough positionally to be disruptive. He is not Enes Kanter defensively. He is a serviceable defender, at the very least (and probably better than that).
