Fixed.

And this may be our last home game but Florida is going to be Wrigley Field South and Cincinnati is going to be Wrigley Field East.

Looks like the Cubs do not hit Gorzelanny well. :-?

Imagining Lou drive any type of motorized vehicle is something I do not want to witness.

Happy birthday to mattbulls' mom. Good luck to the Cubs. They will need it. As PoseyH8er pointed out, Gorzelanny has owned us lately. And he's shaping up to be an excellent pitcher, period. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned it.

I'm not anticipating a sweep but am hoping that the Brewers fall to the level that I think they merit, which is to say around .500. If they can pull this thing off then major kudos to them, b/c they have less firepower and less money. But we still have much more of the moral high ground, b/c many more of us have suffered for much longer than them.

It's a weird thing: if the Pirates win today behind Gorzelanny they will have taken the season series (I think). Cubs have no business losing so many games to a sub-par team. But unfortunately that happens all too often.

Right about now I wish I had access to an old VHS tape that's presumbaly still in storage at my parents' house in Chicago. It's a tape of the Cubs clinching the '84 divisional crown against... you guessed it, the Pirates. Sutcliffe was masterly. But the best part of all was the clubhouse celebration afterward. If any of you guys are old enough you might remember it, too. Harry Caray got totally drunk (as usual). Guys were delirious. And then Leon Durham played a trick on Lee Smith, whose reaction was simply priceless. Priceless. If I could get that tape and upload it to YouTube I would do so. It never fails to lift my spirits, even after the Cubs have blown my self-esteem to smithereens.
