Honestly I don't think the offense is that bad its more of, how many points to you expect to score with Bledsoe, Mann, Winslow, Zu, Hart, and a hesitant Kennard getting major minutes. That's a onslaught of non shooters in the rotation

I'm trying to be patient given the circumstances of this season, but this is just brutally awful basketball.

What a ugly game from start to finish. We tried some things and got close but nothing worked

If we're going to start losing put the rookies into the mix so I can have some type of reason to watch

We don't have an identity yet without Kawhi [and Bev]. Remember the Shai-Gallo-Tobias year. WITH Bev. And oh yeah, we had Lou and Trezz. Every one of them was a leader in his own way. This year has only PG, with Reggie as the #2 and being asked to do too much AGAIN--the bane of his career.

This bunch of castoff role players will get their spit together--they're a NEW team really--hopefully enough to win more than they lose. And yes, one of the our kids [all LATE-round rookies, mind you] stepping up would help, but let's be serious--a Donovan Mitchell or Devin Booker is NOT gonna happen. Let's be realistic.

O jeezus, don't tell me our last hope is Marcus Morris. :o

I wish the Clippers would trade for Rubio. Has he ever had a bad game against the Clippers?

Let it play out first at least for Boston. He was projected top 5 in draft. Lets not go all in Debbie Downer and project failure or subpar status three games into a 19 year old's career

-And not sure if this team minus Kawhi and with PG having to do all the heavy lifting can have an identity. Too many non shooters in the rotation

a 14-point 1stQ and a 15-pt 4th--that's not even 60 points a game, people

WE NEED POINTS.

"All the little things" is cool but the BIG THING is you gotta put the ball in damn hole. Lou and Trezz were shat upon while winning 3 6MOYs between them but they averaged 35 points a night together--and there were THREE other guys on the floor with them whose job was to do "all the little things."

I dig KennMannStein but it's a work in progress. Kenn was particularly pathetic although Ty gave him ton of rope--33 minutes 2-9 FG, 6/3/3, minus-12.

When's Marcus coming back?????????? :rofl2:

We ain't beating playoff caliber teams when PG struggles. We couldn't beat GSW and Memphis when PG played great and efficient. Portland game was a fluke, they simply self destructed. It's gonna be a long season without Kawhi.

Defense was solid in this one is just we didn’t have the Kennard type performance to cancel out another slow night. Batum was on the verge of getting hot but his game won’t let him to insane shooting for a full game. Not like we got blown out by he game just got out of hand and it was clear we didn’t have the fire power to get back into it by mid 4th quarter

Helps when you also have some towers as your safeguard. Mobley has looked great but Reggie also saw two big men spread their arms when it looked like he was about to make a move. Lauri and Allen do a great job eating up space even when guys try to move out the way

This game reminds me the Pelicans away game from last season. Young, tall, physical lineups are the antidotes of our 5 out's.
2023 Clippers W/L Count (51-31)
(Russ at bench 42-15)
without PG13 3-3
Without Kawhi 7-4
Without Russ 6-6

Yes, and the Cavs just knocked off DEN and ATL too. They're packing the paint with three 6'11" guys--outrebounded us 57-36--and nobody's offense is smoothly oiled yet.

I'm not saying there's nothing to worry about, but this was an early-season freak matchup. Plus we were 9-41 [22%] from three.

And we only lost by 13? Lucky.

I miss Leonard (stating the obvious I know). He has every shot in his arsenal and doesn’t panic. He finds a way. We’re sorely missing his mid range game and ability to get a shot off anywhere.

I was hoping Mann would add that to his game. Other than Boston and Johnson he’s the one guy we have who could build that repertoire. Not expecting any of those guys to be as good or better than Leonard obviously. But I do think Mann and Johnson could add it and Boston has all ready shown he has it but needs to reps/experience to hone it all.

It’s depressing to see these teams who have athletic guys who get to play and Lue is like nope not our guys.

Mann and Kennard … 13 points. Not going to cut it.

We’ve got some scoring in our team, but more of it in the starting lineup (PG, Bled, Reggie). We need Luke and TMann to average 20 points a night. We need it. There are going to be nights when those two guys give us 30 and we’ll need every one of them. There are going to be times they give us and 20, like opening night, and it will be enough—or close to enough. But it almost certainly isn’t going to work if those guys play 50-55 minutes and score 13 points a game, like they did last night.

Prediction:
In games where Luke and TMann score more than 22 points combined, we’ll win 65% of the time.
In games where Luke and TMann score less than 18 points combined, we’ll win 35% of the time.
