We were diving down the rabbit hole of hot takes on these prospects, so, all's fair.

i'm not even talking barnes and mobley. if you have 2 prospects with high prospects, i would go with the big wing than the pf/c. that's all i'm saying.

Sure, that's how Mobley fell to 3, but he still went ahead of a pile of wings (including Scottie) because nobody presumes they all have the same ceiling.

And besides, what makes Scottie a SF and Evan a PF/C? Certainly, it's not Scottie's ability to knock down 3's, and it's not about who they can defend. Scottie isn't generating more assists or committing fewer turnovers.

So we really do need to talk about Scottie and Evan ...

Maybe the fact that Scottie actually plays some minutes at PG? He’s not a big in the Traditional sense. He’s basically a big as much as Simmons

I’d usually agree but scoring and an over-saturation of guards/wings makes it easier to put together a competitive team at least offensively.

Mobley is so versatile it’s pretty hard not to structure a list around him. At the very least you’re getting a top ranked defensive team.

Cavs have something unique in the league going, I hope they keep this identity going forward.

Evan doesn't have to play PG, that's what PG's are for .... it's more a question of overall impact and which player can impose their will over the W-L column. Not to mention how they develop physically and skills wise.

I want to see how he fairs against a strong center like Embiid. Genuinely curious if he can use his quickness effectively on the offensive side against someone stronger but slower than him. I've got that game marked on my calendar, should be fun!

I honestly don't think you'll see it much. The Cavs matched Allen's minutes with Jokic against Denver and you'll probably see the same with Embiid.

Honestly I think Mobley is a tall PF/SF rather than a a C who hasn't grown into his body, at least for the next ~5 years. You don't want to see him lose any of his quickness, and if that means he stays skinny, that's fine.

Except a wing is generally considered to be a SF/SG, not a PG.

What I was getting at, though, is there's a fair chance both players end up primarily playing PF.

Sure but Scottie has played PG and SF in several lineups. He’s pretty much positionless and once Pascal returns soon, I don’t think Scottie will be full time PF. More likely that we see Scottie slide over to SF and OG to SG

You can call Scottie whatever you want, but there's not a lot of evidence he's doing those things better than Evan 5 games in to their rookie seasons. It's not like Scottie is dishing out more assists, shooting the ball better, or defending players that Mobley can't.

Honestly, the 'potential' impact of both Mobley and Barnes is insane. If I gave out names who these players had the potential to become people would be like 'it's been 5 games' or 'typical Raptors fans' or 'your saying he's X now, really!?!?'.

The key word here is potential though, just because you have ridiculous potential doesn't mean you are going to reach it, or maybe nowhere even close.

It's up to each player to put in the required work and then to have the BBIQ to put it in the games correctly.

Who knows, maybe some no name in the 2nd round becomes a Superstar again.

Word is, Cade Cunningham is finally going to suit up and play. Apparently its October 30th(Saturday)against the Magic.

So get your bust hot takes ready. Anything less, and ill be really disappointed in everyone here.

If Cade doesn't put 50 points, 20 rebounds and 60 assists he's a bust.

Am I doin it right?

That's the problem with adding a random comment in to a thread of conversation without really addressing what was being discussed.

You've basically left me guessing what your point is and how it ties in.

You said you'd pick a SF over a PF or a C, and I've been trying to figure out what you think means for Scottie and Evan ever since while exploring the possibilities and ramifications of what you might have meant.

If you just felt you were just stating a truth, well, sorry it wasn't very helpful.

That’s why I specifically bonded the part I was respond to. You asked what makes Barnes more of a wing prospect and Mobley a PF/C. I bonded that specific part and responded to it. Didn’t really care for the rest of what you guys were debating, but decided to respond to that small piece

Sorry if that caused a misunderstanding
