PBP announcer Kate Scott will replace Marc Zumoff

I dont know if it’s by design that MAYBE Kate Scott was placed there so it’s easier to replace Zumoff where we have to compare McGinnis with Kate Scott (which is huge upgrade) than compare McGinnis with Zumoff and it will make us miss zumoff.

So they put Kate Scott there. Now if they replace Kate Scott with McGinnis, it will feel like everything is OK. Because its a lower (very low) standard to match.

Btw i dont know this mcginnis guy but i like him WAAAAY better than Kate Scott. I recognize his voice from our summer league games.

I couldn't disagree more regarding being more animated. McGinnis is great as is, and is a rarity these days as announcers have become chatterboxes that scream at the slightest thing. Especially on TV, let the picture speak for itself to some degree - that's a lost art that used to be a rule of thumb for TV broadcasting.

Tom McCarthy misses some Phillies games to do other work - it's not that uncommon. College football season is down to the last few weeks so I imagine the conflicts will be limited.

As for the guy asking Tom McInnis to be more animated....holy crap dude. Meth addicts think McInnis can be a bit too jumpy at times.

Wow, just watched the game, and while I've always loved McGinnis on the radio, it is criminal that he didn't get the TV gig if he wanted it. He's a real pro, and he even makes Alaa listenable in that there wasn't any of the ridiculous chatting and giggling. And not once referring to him as "partner". And no shouting and screaming. T-Mac and Alaa talked comfortably, but it was all hoops. An absolute pleasure to watch this broadcast in every way.
