Barnes, and he's been the most productive pick overall ... but I don't know that it really matters because the Warriors never got a chance to draft him.

There were some for Williams, Kispert, Jalen and Keon Johnson, Garuba, Bones, Thomas, Springer, and on and on.

Every year around now people start realizing that rookie play in the real games generally has a big drop from what they say in summer league and pre-season. It's probably 20 games in that we start getting an idea of what rookie seasons are likely to go like (opportunity minutes being probably the biggest key).

So far, the guys who looked likely to contribute right away have, if healthy. The players that were expected to need time to develop have been much more inconsistent.

Barnes was never a potential pick of ours, may as well say Jalen Green too

Of that list above, Garuba and Bones are the only ones I've seen at all. Garuba's still got it defensively. Offensively might be a while, if ever. But 3 blks and a steal in like 13 minutes, so quick. Bones is gonna be a good bench scorer for a while. Of the rest, what you'd expect. Kispert is hilarious though. He's barely getting into games.. they know what he is, what are they trying to develop? Play him! Or why even take him?

When you say "never a potential pick" ... there was a lot of talk early that had him available for the Warriors, but I don't know why you felt the need to say it since I literally said "the Warriors never got a chance to draft him".

Every year some number of rookies are ruined by the team that took them in one way or another and some number of rookies prove they were wildly over-drafted and some number out perform their draft position. With the GL I wonder if the failure rate will go down.

Pretty much everyone wanted Barnes.. it was a 5 player draft. Online community initially believed #5 was Kuminga, not Barnes

He looked terrible in SL but it looks like he's faring better now

We don't really need him though, he would be buried on the bench just like Moody. Kerr wouldn't be playing him over Porter, Bjelica, JTA, and Dre. That's why it was smarter to draft for the future.

That’s probably true but the draft was before free agency.

I’m ok with Kuminga and I see the upside

Moody, Murphy, Duarte and Sengun were all my picks with 7/14.

Hard to gauge our rooks cause our situation.

I will say this. If we took Murphy and gave him minutes at the 5 I think we'd be on to something special

Baby Dray over in Houston.. he really is a young Draymond

Now this is entirely garbage time, but so far:

24 minutes
2-6 FG, 0-3 3pt
4 pts
7 reb
4 ast
4 blk
1 stl
2 TO

And looks great on defense. Again, entirely garbage time. But he's gonna do everything but score, and he's got some crazy vision too

Are we bragging about our picks? Because I'm on record here liking Mobley, Barnes & Duarte in this draft

I DIDNT want Kuminga. I was favoring Franz at 7 and Bouknight at 14. I forgot who else I wanted at 7.

I think Kuminga was a mistake in the same way that Wiseman was. For both guys, it was clear that the FO only drafted them with the intention of flipping them to another team in a package, but they overestimated the demand for guys that are freakishly athletic
but incredibly raw, can't shoot, and have a low bball IQ. Instead they should have drafted serviceable guys that could be plugged into our system.

The picks should have always been Lamelo over Wiseman as we needed a replacement for Livingston more than a replacement for McGee and anyone that can shoot/defend over Kuminga because it was clear he was a very limited player in the G-League and we already had one year too many of guys like Kelly Oubre.

Hopefully, this was NOT what the team did. The value of the pick goes DOWN after the draft and prior to Summer League. The reason being that the value of that pick derives from only one player - as opposed to the whole range of players who could have been selected at that draft spot.

With Wiseman, there were rumors that Charlotte was willing to flip us their #3 pick and Miles Bridges in exchange for our #2 pick. Yeah, we monstrously screwed that up. With Kuminga, we still don't know what we have yet. So, we can't beat ourselves up too much. Barnes and Giddey were both already off the board. So, the only other reasonable options at #7 were Wagner, Mitchell or Bouknight. Of those, Wagner was the best alternative. So, it came down to the high upside guy in Kuminga (who at draft time was viewed as a potential future All Star) vs. the safer yeoman like guy in Wagner (who at draft time was viewed more as a steady but not spectacular player who'd probably be in the league for ten years). Most teams, I believe, would have selected Kuminga over Wagner. Again, I really think it's 2020 that will be the draft we rue...not 2021.

Of course the team didnt do that, lets not lend credibility to things that have no merit

Or just throw out arbitrary rumors as if they were credible. The rumor was that Charlotte wanted to move up, and then people and sites listed potential offers that they thought might work. No different than the trade board here, if you want a fresh source of rumors I guess

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

My main thought post-draft….the Warriors front office is pretty bad at talent evaluation. And that’s putting it mildly.

I’m all for trading the young guys for the 1st star that becomes available at this point(not named Ben Simmons). Just let me enjoy the last few years of Steph’s window before Joe makes one of his kids the GM.

Pass at the last post. We're looking to go the spurs route build and have a continued dynasty. I'll support regardless but this IMO is the correct way to go. Why make knee jurk decisions while we have Klay coming back? To add to that we've only lost one game. We've beaten some decent teams as well.

What super star are you looking to trade for not named Ben since he's the only one available?

You know that based on your crystal ball? It's always amazing to me how people feel like they can judge a draft after only one season, but to feel like this immediately after the draft? That's truly next level.

The warriors are banking on their new developmental staff which they re-constructed. So we really shouldn't judge our rookies until 3 years down the line. But yea we definitely like the raw athletic types, where we will really need to develop them. We'll see if they're successful or not.

I wanted Barnes but thought he would be gone to okc at #6. I still like Kuminga though.

wanted to mention it earlier, but from the 3 games I've seen, Duarte played his best game tonight vs NYK
