Are Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, Trae Young & Ja Morant better than Doncic at this moment?

I think they are all playing better ATM.

Difference between playing better, and BEING better.

All those dudes are a big step below Luka, Trae being the closest I'd say he's just a tier below.

Luka is, IMO, the most skilled basketball player in history when taking age into account.

He is much slower and less athletic than all of those guys and is still able to devastate. Once he matures a bit and starts taking his body more seriously, it will be something to see.

"Nowhere near Luka's level" is big time hyperbole but I would still rate Luka first among them

Definitely not, but i think Morant has a chance to be and will likely win a title before Doncic IMO.

Luka's not playing his best ball right now and still has better stats then Tatum, Booker and Young who have all had their struggles this season as well.

Ja on the otherhand is balling. I don't think Ja is an overall better player then Luka but I have no issues if someone wants to make the argument that he's been better so far this year because he has. He deserves all the praise right now.

Yeah, no.

3..
4 Booker/Tatum

Luka is either the clear #1 in that tier or he's the tier above.

I'd say the latter rather than the former, but I also don't think it's set in stone as all these guys are still developing.

Booker and Tatum definitely aren't playing better than Luka at the moment. Trae has a case and Ja has pretty clearly had the best start to the season out of all these guys imo. I don't really agree with judging them based on just a few games though.

Weird thread. Tatum and Booker have been absolutely awful this year. Young has been better than those two, but still noticeably worse than last season. Morant is the only guy listed who has clearly been better than Luka, but again, it hasn't even been 10 games.

Luka is in his own tier me thinks. But the ATL Young trade doesn't look bad at all. Morant is having a hell of a year, but I'd rather debate if Morant is the best player from the 2019 draft. Zion was the runaway, but now i'm not so sure due to his recent development.

The difference between them, imo...

Tatum and Booker-- single-minded scorers who don't do a ton more, even if they are near elite at it. I'd put Booker on a higher level though, because he tends to have the clutch gene/killer instinct that Tatum hasn't proven himself to have yet.

Morant is an unstoppable offensive player who I think has the clutch gene. He's well on his way to being a perennial MVP candidate once he gets more playoff experience and more talent around him. Young is a lethal scorer with a clutch gene, but I think doesn't have the physical attributes to take over a game like Morant can.

Luka is the most complete player out of all of them. He could average a triple double, score 35ppg, and has balls the size of watermelons. The problem, and its a big one, is that he needs the basketball in his hands all the time. Maybe its because he has a pretty crappy roster around him. But maybe its because that's the only way he knows how to play. But he seems to run into the same problem every playoffs in this regard, so until I see otherwise I believe its a big time limiting factor in how to rate him.

I'd still hesitantly rate Luka #1, with Morant on his heels and Young a bit under Ja, then Booker, and a few notches below Tatum.

Luka is the most overrated player in the league.
