Im actually OK for Jaylen Brown. I think he can provide 2 way wing play with Tobias’ type offense but he can be a more reliable option in crunch time.

While I think Ben is gonna be a great fit with Al.

I hate Jaylen Brown's game but getting him for Simmons would be a phenomenal return at this point.

Brown would be a fine get for Simmons, but I doubt he is being offered or would be unless it was a Smart/Brown Package for Simmons/Maxey or Simmons/Seth. New management there who did trade for J-Rich and Horford, so we know not a high level of transactional intelligence, but Smart is their Simmons, why would they want both of them together and give up a creator like Brown?

I'm also fairly sure that to deal him in the Eastern Conference Morey will want a trade he wins, not just an even handed one that can come back to bite him. I would trade Simmons for Brown in a heartbeat, but this sounds more like the Celtics want to move on from the bad Brown/Smart dynamic and we would be insisting on Brown while they are offering Smart plus.

We need a wing who can create, shoot and defend and Brown checks all of those boxes, but again, it feels unlikely except that Brad Stevens did make some EB like moves this summer, so if they offer Brown I would jump on it.

Just a rumor for now. We learned from the Harden non-trade and our general existence as Philadelphia sports fans to take all hope and bury it deep where you can never find it.

I would be beyond ecstatic for Jalen to be on this team. At that point the weakest link on the team is Maxey playing pointguard and that means we are in great shape. However, until I see Ben wearing that slime green, I ain't jumping for joy.

yeah, and I am sure you fans are desensitized to any Ben rumors at this point....but it is Shams!

All the report says is that the Sixers would need Brown back in the trade, which of course. Doesn't say anything about the Celtics wanting to trade Brown. That franchise always gets their nose in rumors like this at one point or another and then don't actually make a competitive offer. We've been seeing this play out for over a decade at this point.

I'm pretty sure we can rule out getting any guy leading his team to a successful season as the return for Simmons.

Brown can hit the three at a good percentage and rate, gets to the line, creates for himself and is far from a defensive liability with good size for a wing. He has some knee issues to be concerned with, but short of that, what are people looking for as a return for Simmons? Not that Brown is or will be offered, but he is levels of magnitude better than any combination of Spurs, T'Wolves or Fox from Sacto. I'd still choose Haliburton plus over Brown, but not many other guys or packages rumored to be possible.

Brown is probably the best thing you can hope for in return for Simmons.

I would say better than best, and this is the reason why it will not materialise. We play good even without a Ben, getting decent 3p shooter with defense and ability to create, is I am afraid impossible. Ben really diminsihed his value.

Given the current situation, getting Brown for Ben would be a massive win for us.

Brown is a great two way player entering his prime who would give us a star perimeter scorer. We still are going to lack a little of playmaking, we need a guard more than a forward, but at this point its still a great deal for us.

Ill try to also get Marcus Smart here, even if we need to trade a 1st or a prospect.

We need a breakup
They need a breakup (possibly it was Tatum or Brown pick one).

Both players work for each team. Win/Win

Pritchard
Langford
Tatum
Simmons
Horford

Has very high potential.

Maxey
Curry
Brown
Harris
Embiid

Still some overlaps between Harris/Brown but hey beggars can’t be choosers here. Move Harris for a peanut and everything is okay.

Would anyone trade Ben + Seth for Jaylen Brown + Marcus Smart if they balk at a straight up deal?

Not gonna lie, I'd be tempted. It would be "selling high" on Seth...

Lol, thanks for staying on topic, Mr President. My brain is in a bit of a haze because I've been "smoking that Morey" and going through extreme bouts of depression and embarrassment over the Ben Simmons situation.

I don't care about your specific opinion; it's clear you're here to bait and antagonize. I care about the people who want to have a normal discussion in good faith.

It's always interesting how skilled people are at avoiding a tough discussion then shooting down the person who brings up the tough conversation rather than have the tough conversation itself.

Don't let this one go over your head and your sensitivities entangled. But I see an interesting parallel to the fallout about CRT taught in schools. People would almost always prefer to avoid a topic rather than to look in the mirror.

Anyways, I care about basketball man. But to you, I'm just here bait and antagonize? I mean, really could you take it more personally? At the core of it, I'm sharing my opinion on and opinion board that I think Morey is a dunce of a GM and he's handling this with as much unprofessionalism as Simmons is. The 6ers fan ran a star out of town and that start also isn't without blame for not being mentally tough regarding the criticism. All around it's a bad scenario. I said what I said. You cared - you responded. Thanks for playing with me.

like use your brain lol.

Rockets traded Harden for ... Victor Oladipo (who's now in Miami?) and 8 picks/pick swaps.

I say Marcus Smart + picks in a similar fashion for Simmons is more realistic than Jaylen Brown and you call that unrealistic trash? Lol. Are you still expecting Lillard? Who's not living in reality me or you? Or Morey... definitely it's Morey.

The picks were the crux of that trade for a rebuilding Rockets team. The Sixers are not rebuilding.

That account has no checkmark... First questionable point. Then you look at what Shams had posted today and he's never said ANYTHING like that. So it's basically just someone on this board making a post with their own hot take. There's nothing credible from sources to it.
