cade ceiling shot down with tos. you cant have more tos than assists.
his 7 to cost the game gap between mobley is huge.

Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Warriors missing Klay, Wiseman, and their best bench scorer Lee. Bulls should win this easily since they are only missing Vucevic. We shall see what happens.

Re: 2021-22 NBA Rookie Thread (part 2)
Cade is very unlikely to be a Thabeet or Bennett or Ammo level bust, the thing is that he hasn't played one game that makes you wow. This best game has been ehhh, just an average SF in the league.
Green for all his inconsistencies has put up 2 amazing games.
Mobley and Barnes have looked amazing, the former looking transcendental imo.
Suggs looks like crap like Green but without signature games.
Giddey looks amazing as a PG.
Kuminga hasn't played.
Franz Wagner is probably the third best rookie.
Michell imo wasn't a first rounder

Mitchell wasn’t a 1st rounder? How? He’s been solid

Re: 2021-22 NBA Rookie Thread (part 2)
Worst case scenario is that Cade is a classic overachiever where dedication and talent meet and go their separate ways once you get to the very highest level.
Very early on I thought he was already fully matured in a basketball and physical sense too. He’s been accustomed to his body demos for awhile.
Known a few that topped out and dominated up until they peaked (very early on) and was just another guy. Most of the time they gave it away/lost confidence or become over animated. But being in that sport you mature very very late in a sports sense (26+).
Maybe the answer is not to do the same thing and change the approach away in the off time. Because all of them told me they didn’t change anything head down I’ll work through it sort of mentality.
Ben’s a 3 time All Star and he’s been the same player since College/High School (funnily enough there was more scope back then).

*I don't consider him a first rounder pre-draft. The dude is 23. It's not like the Kings are winning now and need some nice role player to bolster their bench. He is 3 years older than top of the draft. This draft is on the older side with 20 year old top picks, he is 4 years older than the average lotto 19 year old draft.

Cade needs to be able to win off the dribble if he wants to be a star.

Definitely see some flashes from Cade. But he’s also careless with the ball and settles for bad jumpers at times.

The fit is questionable with the kings but Mitchell is definitely a 1st round talent, regardless of his age. He’s been more impressive to me than Duarte
10 points and 4 assists a game off the bench with elite defense is definitely worthy of a 1st rounder

Re: 2021-22 NBA Rookie Thread (part 2)
I like Cade's shooting touch and I think he's better defensively than a lot of people expected. He's also strong enough to get to his spots once he either has momentum going down hill or if he can get enough space out of the PnR.
His turnovers are oftentimes shockingly bad though, whether they're due to getting stripped dribbling or simply making an inaccurate pass. I really think his best role is more of an off the ball one and utilizing his shooting ability. With time, he can potentially be a solid secondary playmaker but I don't think primary playmaker is realistic.

And still leading the league in contested shots.

He has contested more 3's than ANY guard/forward in the league. Of course he leads all C in contested 2 pointers also.

Mobility! soon to be Mobland
Haha I love players like him. Brings impact, doesn’t need the ball to have an effect, can seemingly transition into different parts of the court/game setting on offense or defense. Cool I’ll drop 20 or cool I’ll dish out 5 assists whatever we are going to win at a very good clip in the end with him on the court.
If they get two quality wings then the Cavs are a hard out vs anyone imo. 2 great guards with 2 great bigs and one of each is on the upswing.
Barnes and Moble everyone else is on the catch-up!

Even as a Raptors homer I gotta admit the ROTY is Mobley's to lose at this point. I still like Barne's upside long term but its undeniable how impactful Mobley is on defense right now.

i see the flashes from case, my only concern is he's smaller than kevin porter jr, i had no idea he was that small he looks like a shooting guard in terms of size

Agreed. I tend think position = who you can guard. I can’t see Cade defending SFs. He’s definitely an SG.
