I don't get why Cole is blitzing there. Franz doesn't need help at all.

Oh well. Solid 1st half, terrible 2nd half. Love the way WCJ and Franz played tonight. The PG play was horrendous in the 2nd half which was disappointing cause I thought Cole played very well in the 1st half.

I'm done feeling bad for Mo. He's still committing boneheaded fouls, can't catch/handle half the passes thrown his way, still for some unknown freaking reason can't finish around the rim in traffic like a 7 footer should, etc...etc... What's crazy is he was hailed as this super smart kid coming out of college but so many of his mistakes are mental lapses. Kinda ironic....and sad for a magic fan.

The Magic stumbled in the second half. More growing pains with some good performances.

The officials lost control of the game a long time ago. Then they tried to rein it in and Bamba just didn't get a sense on the situation. He tossed Collins out of the paint and didn't get called for the foul. Collins was barking about the missed call. Then he just started baiting calls and the officials rewarded him.

You can't let a game get physical the way they did and then try to shut it down completely. Capela is really physical. He crawls all over your back and gets away with a ton, so Bamba was responding in kind. He was under the microscope after Collins threw a tantrum on the floor. It's astounding that Collins got away with the barking he did and that Bamba got T'd up for what he did.

Ready for this guy to embrace his role as our microwave scorer off the bench. Atlanta started attacking him a lot more in the 2nd half and we suffered as a result.

Yeah this is why Cole cannot be our starting PG for now. With his skillset, he can take over the bench by providing us with scoring and no rival to him hogging the ball. Plus defensively speaking, he wont be forced to defend the top offensive threats of the other teams anymore.

I feel like some people around here don't realize that we were fouling Capela intentionally to try to get back into the game.

If JI can stay healthy... big if I know, we have our SF/PF positions locked. I'm just not sure WCJ is a starting C. A starting PF? Sure but he lacks the size and/or athleticism to play Center on a contender IMO. Maybe JI can play center like I always wanted him to.

Agreed but for now WCJ is best we have. He’s significantly better than Mo.

Defense was the issue today. This is a game I really wish we had JI for. Still some positives. Cole was very good. Love what Franz and WCJr did as well. Defense has gotta be better though. It was really bad in the 2nd half especially

He's actually a very smart kid from what I've seen... but that doesn't mean that he loves the game. Andrew Bynum comes to mind with these types of bigs. I used to wonder how so many 7 footers can be so bad at basketball but then you remember that they're likely playing just because they were lucky enough to have the physical tools and it pays them very well. He doesn't have the fire to fight in the paint but he has the skills. In a season like this, I see no reason to give up on him yet but if I were running the club I would want to know what his actual desires are with basketball. We can't get stuck paying him on a decent contract if there is no desire to improve. It will be interesting to see how the season develops with him.

You can tell Mosley put some thought into that game, although I guess you could argue no Suggs forced his hand. Still, Franz on Trae, fouling Capella and our rotations being different resulted in a different look, which I like.

In terms of players, yes, I liked that Cole flashed some improved playmaking. Looks like the attention now turns to his defence. Personally, I think he can stay in front of guys but his shot contests don't do anything to bother the shooter. I'm not sure how you can fix that other than being more aggressive.

Wendell started hot but we want him to finish games so he usually ends up sitting while the game is in the balance and playing garbage time to end the match. I swear he got poked in the eye this game too, despite wearing goggles.

Problem for Bamba - his three hasn't fallen for the second game in a row. When it's not falling, what is he doing on offence?

RJ nervously made it through his point guard minutes. Wish we found more minutes for him.

Ross was aggressive. Maybe I wasn't watching closely enough but I liked his game.

So Cole dropped 27 and 11 and we are still criticizing him? Am I in the twilight zone?

I agree with everything you say about Mo's lack of desire. However I happen to think that's just another one of his many issues rather than cause of the rest of his issues. I hope one day he can put it all together, but the scale is tipping in the wrong direction in my eyes.

Cole being a shot hog on a team full of inept shooters doesn’t make him an All Star. It’s make him the mathematical stat leader on a bad team. That’s it. I look very forward to Markelle Fultz coming back and supplanting Anthony as our starter. Cole is going to be a great 6th man though.
You look confused...let me fill you in.
