Celtics have been a sub-.500 team (incl. playoffs) since Wanamaker and SexPants left.

Defense has been great to watch, yes. What about offensive stats in the same timeframe?

Kidding. Not much improvement, if at all. Rome wasn't built in a day and ****. Guys have to make shots including/especially our franchise guy.

The offense will be better once Jaylen returns.
Let's not forget that Jaylen is a 25 points per game guy.

Fans and media need to give some time to the new project. The franchise did some major changes last offseason...changes that we all wanted and they did them. Now you need to let the team work. That includes the new coach, the amount of hate is brutal. And Tatum just needs to rest, as I´ve said in recent posts. He looks mentally tired, too much basketball without a break. Let´s not forget he is very young. He will be MVP caliber soon. In the meantime, let´s cheer for this team, there are some good players in this squad. Enjoy the ride!

Don't just come in here with reasonable takes.
Kidding aside, you are 100% correct. I think the frustration just mostly comes with the massive leads we've given up. Our record should be much better than it looks.
With that being said, before the season even started, I was always concerned about our shooting. Tatum is just in a funk but the problem is, we have a bunch of guys who are unproven or mediocre shooters surrounding our stars. Until that is addressed, I think we are going to have to live with inconsistencies on offense.

Just don't get too attached to players. The Celtics with their $17+ million TPE, $9.5+ million TPE, all their future 1st round picks, vets on decent contracts and young players are set up for trading. I fully expect 4-6 players on the Celtics won't be here at the end of the season.

3 wins in the 8 games with Jaylen, 4 wins in the 6 games without.

You win hands down for the most meaningless stat of the season so far. Congratulations!
The Brooklyn Nets were 25-12 without Kevin Durant in 2020-21.

Tatum has been vomit inducing. Can't hit shots, terrible, dumb decision making, still whining to the refs. This team goes as far as he does. Idk what's happening but he needs to wake up cause this sh*t is bad.

Re: Official Celtics 2021-22 Season Thread, 2nd Edition
The Celtics struggles this season come down to three things, mainly, and Ime Udoka is not one of them.
- less than full strength at most of the games this year
- Tatum has been shooting awful. Championship Teams typically average around 1.3 Points per Shot. Tatum averages a pitiful 1.05 PPS this season. That's goddam scrub level, clear non-rotational level on any team despite Tatum's 22 SHOTS per game. Career wise he is 1.25 Points Per Shot so he should turn this around at some point.
- Marcus Smart is averaging a pitiful 1.04 Points Per Shot. Again, scrub level. Career wise Smart is 1.13 Points per Shot but I personally feel that Smart maxed out last two years, is an Over Achiever who has already peaked, and doesn't deserve the 9 shots per game he takes or the 36 mpg he is playing this season. Smart is the starter I most want to replace with an "upgrade".
- supposed shooting specialists Aaron Nesmith and Payton Pritchard are in a real funk. Nesmith is averaging 0.77 Points per Shot. Pritchard is averaging 0.66 Points per shot. Those are waiver wire numbers for Nesmith and Pritch.
So, how do we get Tatum out of a funk. For starters, just by getting in balance on his shots, and not letting fly when out of balance. That's an easy point to get across if someone would just take him aside.

ALL THE MORE REASON TO HATE ON THE GUY!!
But seriously this comes as no surprise. Horford and Smart (along with the coaching staff) are the primary reasons why this team has already established a defensive identity early in the season.

What would you think we're on the hunt for, positionally?
