LeBron said after the game that Kanter walked right by him in the tunnel and didn’t say a word. Sounds like a cowardly troll to me.

It's so weird that you're trying to make this about being a man.

Lebron doesn't realize that Enes Kanter is trying to make him aware of his folly... with a goal being to encourage Lebron to use his platform (which is far, far larger than Kanter's) to bring awareness to actual human rights violations and racial injustices, compared to the farcical issues that are pushed in the US of A for political reasons.

Instead, Qing James also decided to get in touch with his inner Queen James... and made this about himself, saying, "He's trying to use my name to create an opportunity for himself." :noway: No, Lebron, it is you who are missing the opportunity that Kanter is trying to create for you to actually do some actual good. That is, if you actually cared about doing actual good.

If Enes wants Lebron to use his platform, speak to him man to man. Which he was too cowardly to do. Calling someone out in public is an attack. Not a push. Wearing a shoe showing him bowing to China is an attack, not an push. That is not how you get someone to do something.

And Lebron has done actual good things with his money. WTF has Kanter do?

If anything, Lebron should call him out listing out everything that he has ever done for society. Lebron done more for USA than Kanter did for Turkey.

Yup talk to the self proclaimed king who yelled put respect on my name ya that would make lebron think

Also hilarious seeing lebron nut huggers talk about what he’s done in the community, newsflash 99.9% of athletes do the same thing you get no extra credit for this

Enes is using Lebron in a similar fashion to how Kaepernick used the American Flag. Kaepernick kneeled because he knew the flag was a powerful, emotional symbol of a US govt. He wanted to draw attention to this country's shameful treatment of African Americans so he kneeled. He knew it would provoke a reaction and bring attention to his cause.

Enes is motivated by international affair. He is deeply concerned about many of the authoritarian govts in the world and believes corporations support these govts. He is using Lebron as a symbol because he know the media will cover it as it will provoke a reaction and bring attention to his cause.

That's a good point... and I hope the focus does not stay on Lebron James and that the buck does not stop with him. Why should it? The buck needs to stop with China. AFAIC, it would be ideal for Lebron to latch on to this opportunity and help make a difference... by using his platform to draw attention to the crimes of the Chinese government, and help make an international push for them to stop their persecution of Tibetans, Uyghurs, etc... as well as to return Tibet to Tibetans, and East Turkestan to the Turks. Fat chance of the latter happening though, with China's Belt and Road Initiative. The current incumbents of the White House, most of the EU, and all of the money behind them have too many business interests in China for anyone to make a real stand.

Let's be real, there is no such thing as purism in life, well meaning people do f up. LeBron is obviously content with helping his community in this country, it doesn't mean he's completely full of sh*t or that the other work he does isn't valuable. I wish more people cared about China as people that care about what LeBron thinks about China. Those are the people that are overflowing with sh*t.

Yes. Kanter missed the big picture of Lebron losing money. Very uneducated take by Kanter.

Kanter is probably the most politically active pro player out there right now.

For those who call him a social justice warrior id suggest looking into the whole kanter vs tagip erdojan history. The dude puts his money where his mouth is

Now this whole shoe thing might be a bit of a low blow but **** it. How is it not true

That is the part most posters here dont seem to get. There was a controversy, Morey spoke out more clearly than anyone before, China threatened the league. Noone forced LeBron to open his mouth in the situation. Its fine if he cares about his community "only". Noone forces him to be a fighter for the chinese people. But there was no need to take sides against Morey and thats what he did and that - and nothing else - is what Kanter and critical posters on this board address.

Lebron never told him to shut up and dribble. He said there are negative ramifications to words. Obviously he is being self-serving here but not sure why you are bringing up a white man into this.

So there have been interviews guys Like Mark Cuban asking if he has any problems doing business with China in light of everything that has been coming out. He had no problem what so ever. It's business first. Why are these people getting a pass???? Criticize Lebron all you want he deserves it but why are owners and the NBA getting a pass?

Here is what YOU don't get. It doesn't matter if he speaks out or not. The NBA is a organization that spent millions to get million from China. Any team can be asked to fly to China tomorrow to do a preseason game. By playing in the NBA, you are implicitly supporting China. There is no way around it. Lebron was asked to speak out because he is the star. And he said things to protect his interest. So did James Harden who said, "We love China." The only difference is, 99% of the other players could hide behind silence. Had Lebron said "no comment," he would be criticized too because that means he is essentially NOT supporting Hong Kong.

You're still missing the point.
LeBron has great charities and _done more than kanter for his communities since LeBron has way more money. He should be commended. But that has nothing to do with the right to criticize him on another issue.
LeBron is not immune to criticism just because he does good things or that everyone is complicit to the PRC. That's cult mentality.

I don't see what's wrong if someone wants to critique LeBron over his statement. You and others seem to agree but are beating around the bush by saying oh look he does all this good tho. Or that Kanter sucks. Or that why don't more people criticize the NBA or harden or mark Cuban(which they do, but aren't as big a star as LeBron). None of which has anything to do with the right to criticize LeBron for his statements against Morey.

Noone forced LeBron to open his mouth in the situation. Its fine if he cares about his community "only". Noone forces him to be a fighter for the chinese people. But there was no need to take sides against Morey and thats what he did and that - and nothing else - is what Kanter and critical posters on this board address.

Number 1: Lebron has way more money because he earned it. He kept his body in shape, became a star, lead his team to titles, and is involved in businesses and social movement. As the premier name in the NBA, Lebron has a lot to lose. His own fortune AND the league's fortune. Kanter simply doesn't understand what it is like to be in that role.

Number 2: He can criticize Lebron. He could have said, "I think what Lebron said is wrong and hurts humanized right movement. I think China is a dictatorship and they need to be called out for what they are." By attacking Nike, then attacking Lebron by wearing a shoe showing him bowing to China is no longer a form of constructive criticism. That is just being an attention whore and trying to bring someone down on a personal level. That is why I can't respect him.
