Victory Cigar!!! BOS 111, OKC 105 (9-8)

Post#1 » by GoCeltics123 » Sun Nov 21, 2021 2:46 am

I have so many bad words to say about that 4th quarter but they won so I'll just take it.

Tatum VC, Schroder gets puffs. Burn the tape of the 4th quarter.

Christ. Finally above .500.

Well, besides playing one of the weaker NBA teams, Tatum played like everyone has been expecting (2 in a row) and Dennis Schroder provided the second game in a row where one of the guards was absolutely stellar. Tonight the combined effect of Grant Williams, Al Horford and and Enes Kanter was devastating

An alternative view:

Pts. + Rebounds + (0.5 x Assists) + Steals + (0.5 x Blocks) - Missed FGs - (0.5 x Missed Free Throws) - Turnovers - (0.5 x Fouls)

+29 Jayson Tatum (34 minutes)
+24.5 Dennis Schroder (36 minutes) huge game considering impact Tatum and Grant Williams had
+20 Grant Williams (35 minutes) figured out a way to become an NBA player in his third season. Dropping weight helped

+19 Al Horford (30 minutes) crucial contributor to the success of this team
+18 Enes Kanter (17 minutes) killed his ole team in limited minutes

+9 Marcus Smart (34 minutes)
+6 Josh Richardson (26 minutes)

+1.5 Romeo Langford (8 minutes)
0 Payton Pritchard (1 minute)
0 Bruno Fernando (1 minute)
0 Brodric Thomas (1 minute)

-1 Sam Hauser (1 minute)
-3 Aaron Nesmith (10 minutes)
-4 Juancho Hernangomez (6 minutes)

Tatum. Could have just as easily gone to Schroder.

Choice for VC obviously between JT and the Menace. Going with Dennis. Very efficient game. JT now has a string of 3 very strong games. Grant Williams continues to play and shoot very well. Udoka gave the deep bench a chance. They did not respond. Hat tip to OKC. Any team that plays that hard deserves respect.

Yeah, it could've been Schroder, but I gave it to Tatum because of the 6 3-pointers made.

Tatum, but Schroder was awesome too. Smart was very under control, just couldn’t hit anything. Only took 6 shots though, so whatever.

Tatum was +22, and we got outscored by 16 when he sat. This team should be pretty damn good when Jaylen and Rob decide to stop being injured.

Couldn’t decide between Tatum or Dennis went with Tatum since he’s stringing really good games together.

Loved how we played, ball was fizzing around the court low key. Tons of drives and kicks and really stifling defense most of the time.

Nesmsith was down right dog **** idk what’s going on with him dude was a -14 in like 10 mins did but one positive thing. Not fully concerned yet but eek.

Tatum finding his juice and team is seemingly rounding into form.

Sam Hauser may have just taken his only NBA shot this year

Solid win aside from bench shenanigans near the end though, loved how in control everyone seemed to play, they had a gameplan and stuck to it

Tatum VC. Puff for Schro and Smart.

I must say though, GWill has pulled a string of impressive games so far.

Forgot to shout out grant as well maybe his best all around game ever. He’s really coming on and becoming a very good role player.

I'm not even mad about the 4th quarter. OKC made one of those "fake comebacks" we complain about when the C's do it. They scrapped and got the final score more respectable but the game was never in doubt.

I wonder if Ime will leave Grant in the starting unit and let Rob come off the bench.

Grant starting gives the Celts more shooting and Grant can defend some of the smaller guys.

Grant is 14 for his last 26 from deep, I believe.

God damn.

Tatum again, Schroder a close second. Some of you, and you know who you are, owe Grant Williams a big apology.

Come to think of it, if Grant and Big Al are the 2 bigs with Tatum, Brown, and Smart, that's 4 starters who can shoot.

Smart will be the only one who's a non-shooter with that lineup.
