No, it's not a shot at Smart.

I'm just saying that part of the shooting problem will be solved if Ime starts Grant over Rob.

Marcus Smart the last 2 games played great basketball.

He only attempted 2 3-pointers against LA and OKC.

And he was under control, made the right passes and didn't try to do too much.

That's the Marcus Smart that this Celtics team need.

I'd like whoever has been using the 'Can't Will' nickname for Grant (captain green, I think?) to tell us what nicknames he has in mind for the other youngins.

I see what you’re saying but rob still provides elite spacing vertically and should be the starter in any case.

Going with Tatum who seems to have adjusted to the new rules. Schroder continues to be deadly driving to the basket and gets a puff.

I'll eat crow at this point. For a team that sucks at shooting it's hard to knock the 1 guy hitting his open 3's right now

The drives to the basket by Schroder is elite.

Very few PGs can do what Schroder does on driving layups.

Bad News:
G League team.
Terrible Q4 - need to close MUCH MUCH better.
Menace & JT finally stabilized things.

Good News:
JT all around great again.
Menace was awesome - LET’S KEEP HIM DAMMIT!
Big Al - Double Double.
Cobra - 8 assists.
Grant - 4 of 5 from 3.
Enes rebounded.
JRich - Solid.

Starting to relate to these guys more.
Add JB & Rob - & maybe we can get something going this season.

Next couple of weeks will tell us more! We have a very hard schedule & a long road trip VS very good teams.

Another great win. This had trap game written all over it and they came out tough and aggressive.

I really don't want Dennis back to the bench. Get rid of double bigs, start Dennis and Marcus.

Love what I'm seeing!!

Guys like Smart, Grant, and Horford thrive in this system where the ball is popping and doesn't stick with one guy. Just make the next simple pass until a great shot presents itself. All three are great screeners too. Richardson also seems to be comfortable with his role. Not trying to do too much but isn't hesitant to get to his spots and get up shots. Schroder is like this wherever he plays. It's fun watching him operate in space. Not so much fun when he keeps the ball too long up top (doing less of it last few games).

I think Kanter has a role too and can be brought in situationally but they gotta figure out a better defensive scheme that suits him and surround him with the right guys. He was a net rating monster a couple of seasons ago, still puzzled how Brad made it work. I like Langford right now more than Nesmith and Pritchard. You at least can rely on him to defend but those other two will get a real opportunity eventually. I'm hoping Jabari and Juancho are at least good locker room guys cos Grant isn't giving up his spot in the rotation anytime soon.

The ball movement lately has been insane, and they’ve left a bunch of assists on the table.

Zoya has been on this for years, but ball movement like that is contagious, and makes everyone play better.

Teams net rating is now +20.4 better with Smart playing as opposed to the bench. Tatum is next up at +17.3, and then Rob at +11.9.

Smart has been so, so good since the first few games.

Stevens so wanted something like this for this group. Especially when Hayward and Horford were here. I hate to think that guys just didn't listen to him, so in my mind, Tatum and Brown were just too young to get it.

We'll see how we do against the tougher defensive teams but I'm loving the recent commitment to it. None of the walk it down the court ****. None of the dancing with the dribble (or almost none). Very few one-pass possessions.

EDIT: Both Brad and Ime want to hunt mismatches but the major difference with Ime in the last two games has been attacking the mismatch with quickness, decisiveness, and force. Tatum/DS/Smart/whoever get the mismatch either on the move or they go right away as soon as they catch the ball. With Stevens, it ended up as an iso more often than not.
