If that was the case,dont think nurse would say he likely out for a while. I think it was the hip and usually those are touchy injuries if not handled carefully. Agree though he needed a week off.

'out a while' = a couple games
'getting close' = 2 weeks more
'a ways away' = a month perhaps two

Questionable is a strange word to use in regards to the chance a player will play.

To me the categories should be:

Out, limited possibility, possible, probable, available.

I got that vibe from the VanVleet single game injury too.

Maybe Raptors sports science is telling them players can play 40mpg and be fine, but it's the volume of games played that really causes trouble. But the NBA doesn't want healthy scratches, so this would be one way to navigate that.

How are these injuries confirmed though? Do teams need to send the players medical chart to the league head office or does the head office just take the teams' word for the injury?

I think the league is sensitive to the communication, not the facts.

Semantics. NBA uses doubtful, questionable and probable (same) instead of your terms. Questionable basically means 50/50.

Maybe so, especially since strained groin muscles as Fred was listed with, are notoriously lingering and easy to keep aggravating. Not typically a one game off then come back with high minutes thing.

Oh and this is great news. Can't wait to see our whole squad healthy
