They don’t get to choose to insure his deal or not. The league wide insurance agency chooses which ones, and they likely won’t choose to insure his new deal going forward.

Yeah, that ought to be a cautionary example moving forward- if someone has an injury issue- don't extend early.

At least Roy was a legit star that you could argue was worth the risk to lock up.

Yikes. I did not know this detail.

My opinion about the deal doesn't change though. Denver is playing a longer game.
